Dolly - A Little Disabled Rabbit

OK, time for nose nudgies now! Like my big wheels?

- Thank you Renee

PS: You can follow Dolly on her FB page!

From Dolly's page:

Dolly wasn't always disabled. When we adopted her at 3 1/2 years old - she is now 7 years old - she was perfectly normal. About a year ago we noticed that she was getting pee on her bottom - that's when we took her to the vet, had tests and X-rays done and X-rays showed she had a fused disc, mild arthritis & spondylitis. There was no sign of injury that caused the damage, which means it was a birth defect. The pee on her bottom was because she wasn't lifting to pee any more which resulted in it getting on her. So we put her on a low dose of metacam which kept her pain free and dry. About 3 months ago she started falling over, so off to the vet we went again & X-rats showed three fused discs, spondylitis, scoliosis & arthritis. So in just under a year she went from one fused disc to three, and she developed scoliosis (she gets worse as she ages). About a month after the falling over she wasn't able to get up anymore - and that's when her disability started. She is now on a low dose of metacam twice a day and doing wonderful.

Poor beautiful girl bunny. :-(

I hope she is not in pain.

She needs to be given lots of love and care and head-rubs and nose-kisses and yummeh noms.

And nose-nudgies!

I approve of Dolly's hoomins! Special needs buns are the special-est! We love our little disabled Sal - who is demanding some chin scratches, and I must obey.

A new innovation -- disapproval on wheels!

And thank you to the hoomins who are taking such good care of Dolly, may Dolly disapprove and do wheelies for many years to come.

I guess when Dolly rolls over us, at least we go down smiling and feeling happy for Dolly!

Hell on wheels? I doubt it! She looks so sweet. And her hoomins restore my faith in my own usually pathetic species.

The Unsinkable Dolly Bun!

Metacam really does help, that's a good thing. Accupuncture, perhaps? Keep that precious girl comfortable and rolling along.

Awesome bun, awesome hoomins.
