Wait - you could have made me a bunnana-cawwot cake but didn't!?

- Thank you, Susan and SCHRR!

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Gus, "No, it's not the pix from yesterday - I zigged when he thought I'd zag."
Gus, "I run out of patience five exposures ago, hoomin."

Good evening, Everybun!

It feels like Spring is knocking on our heads. The calendar still says "January," but you wouldn't know it today. We had the heat on yesterday morning, and we might have to run the AC tonight. We're just not ready for it. So we will milk the last few weeks of decent, cool weather for what they're worth.

I kept one of my eyes on the hoomin, and he did try to chillax. I keep hearing grumbles about how easy it is to tire doing "normal" stuff. Oh well, things are still better than they were even a week ago. But the strange thing is how the whole of January seems to have been erased or melted away in a surreal, corrosive bank of dark fog.

The good news is, the day is still young here, and there's arting to be done. I heard dinner will be served early, and the setting will be festive. I don't care how it's set - it just better be crispeh and yammeh!

Good night, and good luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Espresso, "I'm ready for my dinner!"
"... that's better."
... Spanish Needle - for the bees and the bunns ;-)
Gus, "And why do you even bother? You know what we're gonna do here the minute you look away, right?"

Greetings, Everybun!

We're off to an easy, cloudy, and cold day. It feels right after a week made of m*nd*ys. Everyday day we kept notes for the post, and now we decided to scratch them. There was nothing there.

The highlight of the week was the chore time with my hoomin. He cleaned our room, and I kept making sure he had stuff to clean. I'd let my hoomin steal some pics throughout the ordeal - it makes him so hoppy. Of course, he thinks he's so clever - what's the sense it taking that away from him?

We'll keep you posted!

Caleigh

Watch and learn, kids - see where the hoomin is hiding a lot of the spicy hay? Right there ...

Thank you, Ken and Kaci!

PS: Ken and Kaci rescued Caleigh, who was abandoned in a park. Four weeks later, Caleigh became a Mom. The babies are four weeks old. They are safe, hopefully moving to the rescue where Ken volunteers, and then they'll be looking for good bunny homes.

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Good evening, Everybun!

We started the day with some cookies and coffee. I had the crunchy pellets, and he had that bun-awful sludge. Bleh!

We didn't have much light to work with, but I sayz to the hoomin, "You just go right ahead and have at it - as long as the crunchies last." And so we enjoyed ourselves and started the day on the right paw. He still thought taking pixes was arting, but I had my mouf fool of treats and thus didn't say anything, if you catch my drift.

And then, it finally happened - my hoomin tested negative! Yep! Now, if only the congestion and fatigue went away.

Good night, and good luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Gus, "Yes, yes - that's MISTER handsome devil, to you, hoomin!"
Charlie, "See the problem? There's nothing to get stuck in my teeth!"

Hellos, Everybun!

My hoomin still tested positive as of last Thursday. We're in the third week of this mess right now. Go figure.

It's the old routine of putting one paw in front of the other. By evening time, there's nothing left in the tank except fatigue and insanity. A little bit of comfort reading helps.

Lem's "The Astronauts" is a fascinating piece. As one of his early works, it is widely shunned, mainly for certain geopolitical musings at the story's beginning. Lem never liked it, but then again, he never liked any of his "hard sci-fi" stories and often claimed he wrote them to pay bills. But as a stepping stone to his other works, it offers a rare insight into the evolution of certain motifs appearing in later works.

Another thing worth considering is that "The Astronauts" or "The Invincible" act as "gateway" stories into Lem's philosophical multiverse.

We'll keep you posted!

Have a Hoppy and Dreamy MLK Day!

Charlie, "Why, yes! The ear always salutes 'treat o'clock'!"
Gus, "No, hoomin, … this ain't no party, this ain't no disco! The struggle is real, ain't it!?"
Espresso, "Dreaming of a world where no bun has to look for a forever home."

Greetings, Everybun!

We would like to wish you a buntastic and dreamy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

We'll do some dreaming of our own, and we hope you'll do the same. I'm not sure what kinda day my hoomin will have today, but I sayz to him, "If you can't dream up anything new, at least dream about dreaming!"

You never know what will spring from a dream, no matter how small or trivial it first appears. They are seeds - so keep on planting. Remember when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. asked Nichelle Nichols to stay with Star Trek? Plant and cultivate!

We'll keep you posted!

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Good evening, Everybun!

I sayz to the hoomin, "You can be down for the count between the morning cookie time and diner salads." Then you better be up.

He's been trying to find things to dial down, and I think we've reached the bottom of the barrel. It turns out that cookies, salads, and some kind of "arting," any "arting," are non-negotiable. I just care about the cookies, but whatever.

I feel we'll be back tomorrow with a Holiday update (MLK) because it's an important day, and we like to keep it that way.

Good night, and good luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Espresso, "What do you mean, 'Can I be nice if I get a cookie?' - what are you trying to say!?"
Gus, "Oh, yeah! My give-a-thump broke; it's out that way, in the dump, hoomin!"
Charlie, "First - 'because I can,' and second, 'just because,' hoomin, 'just because!'"
Gus, "Nope, no sir - I'm all out of poses and patience, hoomin."

Hello, Everybun!

I sayz to my hoomin this morning, "Have no fear - the long weekend's here!" Did he listen? Of course not! Honestly, both hoomins are still in the woods with the illness. Every little chore became an act of defiance and resistance to the notion of feeling sick and scared. But, we plod on.

The good news is Charlie came over today! I almost binkied after not seeing her for a few days. We're finally off to noming and loafing nose to nose. I'll throw out my hoomin from my spot in a minute, and it will be "back to normal" for us. He can thrash against the windmill of cleaning up Gus's room. Maybe it'll make him feel better.

And yes - you're right - all the pixes today would have looked better as black-and-white, but that would be a bit much.

We'll keep you posted!

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Espresso, "Well, it's been at least three minutes since you told me what a handsome feller I am - well, I'm waiting!"
Charlie, "What can I rip up next?"
Gus, "So this is what the clicky thing can pick with little to almost no light in the room, eh?"

Good evening, Everybun!

It's been a very slow day around here. My hoomins are doing OK and chillaxing - whether they like to or not. Of course, my hoomin is whining about the four-day weekends being gone and the Holidays being over. Remember when he pouted because the Holidays were coming? I can't win!

At this pace, the year ought to be very interesting.

Good night, and good luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Espresso, "You're so far behind your snorgling duties they're catching up with you!"
Charlie, "Well, we waz about to have a rave, cuase like why not!? Like you could something about it!"
Charlie, "When you get shots that you don't know what to do with but hold on to them anyway."
Espresso, "Wormhole to Sheffield, somewhere around '79 or '80."
Charlie, "Ya think the struggle is real now..."

Greetings, Everybun!

And how is everybunny's New Year going? My hoomin tried to catch up on his snorgling duties this morning. It was quite glorious. I napped, he rubbed my cheeks and head, I'd get up and nom some pellets, then loaf - rinse and repeat. He even brushed me and got enough fuzz off of me to make a little Spresso golem.

Other than that, the year is off to a roaring start - both hoomins are down with Cov. Yep. At least they are on the mend, and they're improving. I think it's going to be OK. For a while, they tried to isolate from each other at home. Hence we got a temporary setup in another room. It was for naught. But life is slowly returning to "normal." They did everything they could to be ready for this and did everything right. So hopefully, we'll plod through to the other side of this. All will be OK if O2 levels stay up and this thing doesn't turn into a long-haul situation.

We'll keep you posted!
