The Bunday Evening Thumps

Good Evening, Everybun!
"Hello?! Is this thing on?! asked Charlie and tapped the laptop screen. "So, Espresso has been ordered to shelter in his bundo and forbidden to play with his hoomin," said Charlie. She leaned in close to the screen and shifted to get a better footing. "I took away the pen from my hoomin, broke it, and shoved it up his..."
"No! Stop, Charlie! You can't say that!" screeched Gus as he jumped to cover Charlie's mouf with his paw, hair bristling on this back.

"Oh, get off me, Gus! Nose, I shoved the pen up his nose!" mumbled Charlie, agitated.
"Anyway, that's what the hoomin got for peddling all that nonsense about Mr. Espressos every Sunday night. Somebun had to teach him a lesson! Just because he can, it's not OK to yell, 'Run like hell!' in a crowded asylum!" Charlie went on.
"I was going to punch him in the throat too, but Gus hopped in front of me and took it in the gizzard. Now, when the hoomin got it with the pen, it cleared out a few marbles from his head. It's good for him. Trust me, I'm an ear, nose, and throat doctor now, ha! I threw him outside, and he's doing better already. He's talking to the ducks and the cawwot starters. He hugged the bamboo clump in the back yard. I told him he can have a pencil next week, but I keep the eraser! One more funny..."

Charlie stopped and looked at Gus. He was frantically running his paw across his throat to get her attention.
"What now?!" asked Charlie and took a swift hop toward Gus.
"That's enough, Charlie," pleaded Gus. "Look, we better bring the hoomin inside for the night, OK? We'll keep him in the garage till the morning, and then we'll see what to do with him, OK?" whispered Gus.

Good night and good luck,
- Charlie

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Hellos, Everybunny!

Another week in the quabuntine. It's all Tuesdays now, or something like that.
My hoomin tries to put a little bit of BunFest into each day. The days seem nothing more than planetary 360s, and that's with everything going as well as it could. The tar pits are still there, salaaaad are served every evening, and so on.

My hoomin said the best thing about working at home is getting from "work" to anybun of us in 3.9 seconds. No, he didn't measure that, but how are you gonna know what the real time is? But every now and then, even that feels like a long time.

We'll keep you posted,
- Charlie

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Espresso, "Hoomin, where's that pineapple you started growing?"
Espresso, deciding to sit in the one spot where the afternoon sun would get him just right.
Espresso, "Just bring the bananas or I'm calling my agent!"

Good Evening, Everybun!

The hoomin stood in the dark doorway of a cheap motel room and kept re-reading a copy of a telegram. From time to time, he would look down at the thin line of light shining through the gap between the door and the floor, hoping that another piece of paper would slide through. After a long pause, the hoomin knocked gently on the door and asked, “Are you still there?” He was hoping his contact was still there, like a friendly ghost.

“I shouldn’t be,” answered the voice sounding an awful lot like Mr. Spressos.

But the hoomin clammed up and couldn’t say anything. He realized no bun was coming to the rescue. The guys that know how to had finished rescuing a long time ago. They had guided home everybun through the thick and thin; scary and poisonous; and their show had ended. They had left us memories of how rescues were done. That’s more than what they had to start with.

The prolonged silence made Mr. Spressos impatient. “Look, Mr. Hoomin, we’re running out of time. If you feel compelled to confess or beg, don’t bother. We’ve seen your promises. Your deeds betrayed your sins of thought. We wouldn’t be here otherwise, would we? Goodnight, Agent Hoomin.” said Mr. Spressos.

The hoomin heard a muffled but firm thump on the other side of the door. Mr. Spressos hopped away for the cover of darkness.

Goodnight and good luck,

- Espresso

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Gus, another successful raspberry hunt.

Espresso, "What kind of six feet is that, hoomin? You're not even six roaches away."

Greetings, Everybun!

These are the "hang out with as many rabbits as you can" days. Just the other evening, Charlie puddled on one side, I on the other while the hoomin sat in the middle and tended to us. He had a magazine article in his lap and read as his paws massaged us head to tail. It made for a very lovely and relaxing time.

He said it was the best thing about the "virtual" day at the tar pits. He's very grateful to have the tar pits to fret about, though. Of course, it's so we can have whatever we need.

All the carrot starters are doing well, and even the poor pineapple starter is alive. My hoomin thought the pineapple may not make it, but it's sprouting new leaves! Going out to water these treasures is another thing he looks forward to every day.

We'll keep you posted,
- Espresso

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Espresso, "No, I do not know where Mr. Spressos is."

Charlie and the "Dandelion Blues."
Good Evening, Everybun!

We hope that your observances were safe and peaceful. Or that at least you had a good day. My hoomin had wished to observe me all day long, but you know how that goes. He can get under my fur very quickly. I think I'm growing a little bald patch on the top of my head. I'll need a sweater or a coat for my back! So I called it an early morning on and retreated to a corner in the bedroom.

Anyway, no, I don't know where Mr. Spressos went. Nobun knows where he went after the hallucinogenic helicopter crash last Bunday. He's probably out there somewhere, plotting away. Of course, you start a plot, then bad ideas rear their ugly sprouts, and you have to pull the weeds. We always make a nice pile of compost from them, plow the compost under when the time is right, and something better grows from that. And that's the way we like Spring.

Good luck and good night,
- Espresso

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Charlie, "They said 'Safe in the bundo,' they didn't say who's bundo."

Espresso, "Let's just cut to the nanner here, are there treats at the end of this or not?!"
Greetings, Everybunny!

Our hoomins are enjoying a long weekend since yesterday, and the atmosphere feels less frantic. My hoomin says this is the kind of "shelter in the burrow" he can get behind, and feels very fortunate, all things considered. But, you know, this it today. Yesterday, his brains were oozing out like an overripe banana.

You know what, everybunny? If you can share with us how your hoomins are sheltering with you, we would love to see.

We'll keep you posted,
- Espresso

Mira, Maya, and Moonglow

The hoomins thing we need the still to make paw sanitazer, right?
You didn't mention the raspberrinis, did you?

- Thank you, Brambley Hedge Rabbit Rescue and Erika!

PS: A little bit about Maya, Mira and Moonglow,

BORN: 2013
WEIGHT: 4lbs each
BREED: Mini Rex
COLOR: Brown / White
GENDER: Spayed females
LITTER BOX HABITS: Good
NOTES: Maya, Mira and Moonglow are part of a litter of eight beautiful Rex babies rescued after they were dumped in a park at only a few weeks of age. All eight thankfully responded well to the care they received at BHRR and are now flourishing. These three girls and two of their brothers (Mango and Macadamia) still reside at the shelter (three of their brothers have been adopted) where they are some of our favorite bunnies to spend time with! Mira (brown) is the “big sister” and she likes to keep her little sisters in line…but sometimes little sisters like to defy their big sisters and when that happens it’s hilarious. When the girls are being precocious they are snuggled in close and grooming, snuggling and sleeping in a perfect pile of Rex bunnies.

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Espresso, "Hoomin, did you think about sticking to salaaaaads?"
Espresso and Mr. Espressos having a good day.

Good Evening, Everyone!

Finally, Agent Hoomin succumbed to the dreams and nightmares of conversations with Mr. Spressos. He didn’t have to go and visit Mr. Spressos in the park, in the dead of night anymore. Like bouts of fever, fragments of encounters with Mr. Spressos plagued his imagination.

There were bits about Spressos catching hippies or something.
“Oh, Mr. Hoomin, but we don’t need the entire hippie. We only need the soul. You see, we’ve been trying to extract the antibodies for greed and corruption, fear and hatred, resignation and despair.”

At first, the hoomin thought this was to make a vaccine for those maladies. In the next moment, he knew it was none of that. They wanted to know how the antibodies work to better defeat the sorry souls. As he sat facing Mr. Spressos in the bowels of a black helicopter, he thought something in one of the cargo nets moved. The chopper began to shake and scream violently as if the motor was coming undone. The hoomin felt frozen.

Suddenly, Agent Hoomin sat up awake, drenched with cold sweat. Somewhere near, a garbage truck was swallowing a load of trash and lurching on. The hoomin had overslept again.

Good night and good luck,
- Espresso

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

"Gussy" Gus, the blue period.

Charlie "Zoomer," in the "Sheltered in the Burrow," something apocalyptic and yet to be written, LOL!

Greetings, Everybunny!

Let's just look at a few bits of good news. All the cawwot starters are in the dirt. The romaine lettuce Mr. Angie grew is now ready for picking. Evrybunn is still doing better than those two sorry sods in "The Lighthouse." If you missed out on it at the theaters, make it a movie night. Or watch Alien again.

OK, just kidding, back to those good news bits. My hoomin started hitting the bookwork again, trying to push those lesson plans at least a little at a time. Now, if he can hang on until the evening when he goes for walkies with his favorite audiobooks and podcasts, it'll be a great day.

We'll keep you posted,
- Charlie

Home grown romaine; it's what's for dinner.

We made more cawwot starters and they are all in the dirt.

A pineapple starter - we have idea if this one will take.

Peppers - nope, no sir, but they're so pwetty!
