The Bunday Evening Thumps

Charlie, "One eye on the hoomin, ..."
Espresso, "Time to post a nap ;-)"

Good Evening, Everybun!

Mr. Spressos sat on the bench and watched the insects berserking around the street light. The park was still dark and empty. Agent Hoomin was late for the meeting that he called, and when he arrived, he sat down and started at something far in the distance. The moonless and starless night was so dark that he stared at nothing.

"You have that look again, Agent Hoomin, like you had discovered something," said Mr. Spressos.
Agent Hoomin turned and looked at Mr. Spressos, surprised, as if he saw an apparition.

"I figured it out, you know. You've been sitting on it all along, mixing it with raisins, hoping I would never catch on," Agent Hoomin rasped with agitation. Mr. Spressos lowered his eyelids a little and locked his gaze on the hoomin.

"The dark matter, most of it, all of it, it's made of uncertainty, isn't it!? And you knew all along." seethed the hoomin.

Mr. Spressos tried not to wince. He checked his watch.
"Agent Hoomin, let the planet rotate, oh, I'm guessing, another fifteen degrees. That nearest star of ours will come into view again. Let those photons break you up - and put you back together."

Both turned to stare at the night again, counting the degrees. The star would come into view again, wouldn't it?

Good Night, and Good Luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Greetings, Everybunny!

Let's do the good news first. I had my toe check-up and nail trim this morning, and all is well. The morning was quite cool and pleasant. We had a little cold front go through on Thursday, and it's still nice outside.

The complicated news is that my hoomin lost his work. The position got eliminated, and the tar pits are just a dark pit in his gut. On one paw, it was not THAT surprising; on the other paw, he found out, almost in passing, that his position was dependent on one client's contract. It was a bit of a "Wait, what!?" kind of surprise.

Well, the end result is the same. The company offered a few hours of consulting work for the next four weeks, and that will be it. He's trying to waddle through the next steps the best he can.

We'll keep you posted,
- Gus

PS: So, now, is every day a M*nd*y or a Friday?

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Charlie, "See, you gotta get your tucks out like this and spraaaaawl!"

Good Evening, Everybun!

My hoomin run out of things to thump about tonight. I know, that doesn't sound right. He probably forgot - been out in the sun too long, fried his brains scraping old paint, prepping for the gutter work.

He called our V.E.T. yesterday and got an appointment for Gus next Saturday morning. Gus needs his toenails inspected, especially the one trying to grow sideways.

We'll monitor Espresso's sneezing this week, and he might go along with Gus if he has any discharge. A cloudy discharge will get him a visit for sure.

But, that's all next week. Friday, we'll decide if Espresso needs to see the doc.

Aside from that, both of my hoomins petered out halfway throughout the day and took a hint from me. I had to show them a picture of how it's handled, of course.

Good Night, and Good Luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Greetings, Everybunny!

It's starting to feel more and more like summer. We still get the occasional nice evening, but we can feel it in our bones the heat is coming.

My hoomin is settling in the mid-year routine of dealing with "house infrastructure" stuff more frequently. It looks like gutter work for the next couple of weekends. Nobuny knows what will pop up after that.

In the world of the bottomless note-taking for his lesson plans, my hoomin hit the bottom of the barrel - regulations. Those bits feel the most surreal out of all the material that he has to cover. I'm sure Mr. Spressos and Agent Hoomin would like to have a chat about that.

Speaking of Mr. Spressos, he's doing well and was caught doing a binky the other day. He still has that sporadic sneeze or two - but his nose is always dry. We're still working on that one.

We'll keep you posted,
- Gus

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Charlie, "Yeah; that's a stick of chewing parsley, why?"

Gus, "No, hoomin, this is not 'very exciting'."

Gus, "Wrap it up, hoomin; I'm almost done here."

Good Evening, Everybun!

Our pal, Espresso, is back to sneezing, and my hoomin is not very hoppy about it. We smell another trip to the V. E. T., and we're afraid that this time, 'Spresso will get the poke in the nose to collect a discharge sample. Now, we didn't see any discharge yet, but this is just not good.

We took a little bit of pity on our hoomin and let him play with the colored flashlights around our bundo complex. It makes him so hoppy, we sometimes put up with it - while the noming's good.

Good Night, and Good Luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Espresso, "The mouf you make after getting though a week of a complete cluster M*nd*ys"

Charlie, "Don't like the look, eh? Not sideways enough for ya?"

Greetings, Everybun!

We're just glad to be done with the week. There's an unpleasant chore or two left for tomorrow, but that's for tomorrow. My hoomin got his second vax jab on M*nd*y, and all went well. His arm was a little sore, he felt a bit icky, and that was the extent of the excitement.

We'll keep you posted,

- Thank you, Sunje, Kurtis, and SCHRR

PS: This little guy was found by a neighbor of Sunje and Kurtis and brought to the rescue. They couldn't take him in because they're at capacity right now. So he's staying with the neighbor, at least for now. He doesn't have a name or an official forever home. For now and for the sake of the post, we called him Rohan after a character in The Invincible.

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Charlie, "My worst hair day is better than your best, hoomin."
Espresso, "The 'pellet cruncher' is fully operational, hoomin; why?"

Good Evening, Everybun!

A bad hair day? There are no bad hair days this side of the grass, hoomin. It's been a quiet, long day. Our hoomin escaped into lesson plans, we napped. He would try to take some pics, we dodged. He tried to give us some head rubs, we acquiesced.

And tomorrow ..., tomorrow we pop open the last couple of Mini Snickers saved for one of those nebulous, special occasions. He will get his second shot; that's special enough for us. We'll keep you posted, of course.

Good Night, and Good Luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Espresso, "What was that, hoomin!?! Did you thump? 'Cause I didn't thump; but something thumped!"

Gus, "Got any more of those treats, hoomin?"

Charlie, "Right, The Bunnyknockers; knocked your head or something?"
Greetings, Everybunny!

Espresso had his checkup on Tuesday, and everything went so well that the V. E. T. didn't have to take a take sample from 'Spresso's nose. We had things pretty much under control by then. Espresso had his appetite back, and the wrestling bouts to give him his meds were less feisty. He sneezed the next day - just to put everybun on edge, but ever since then, he's been doing better. No sneezing - we hope the treatment worked.

To keep things interesting, life threw a death in the family into the mix. We'll be taking it M*nd*y at a time for a little longer. In all honesty, that's all bun does on a good day anyway. Now it simply feels very tangible and visceral.

We'll keep you posted,
- Charlie

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Good Evening, Everybun!

Stormes started passing through here yesterday, and the cats and dogs are still raining down. Things are only marginally better on the inside.

Espresso stopped sneezing, but he also lost his appetite. He does eat a little bit on his own, but not much. Yet, we're not picking up any signs of pain or discomfort. It turns out that the loss of appetite is one of the known side effects for bunns taking antibiotics, including Baytril - the one Espresso has to take.

Mr. Bun and Latter never had any problems with Baytril, and the sorry sod of my hoomin didn't catch on right away.

This morning Espresso got a dose of the Sherwood Appetite Restorer, recovery food, and three hours later - another round of the Appetite Restorer.

Looks like have to fee him some more by paw. He'll probably get more Appetite Restorer along with the antibiotic tonight. At this point, we're just trying not to die, and we'll call the V. E. T. first thing in the morning.

Good Night, and Good Luck!
- Gus

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Charlie, "You keep an eye on Espresso, capiche?"

Gus, "Yeah, hoomin, I'm not gonna tell you twice!"

Greetings, Everybun!

Our hoomin came back from the V.E.T. with some Bene-Bac for Espresso. Espresso started getting antibiotics on Wednesday, and we hope the pro-biotic will help his gut stay healthy. But the guy is still sneezing and "harrumphing." That's the weird sound that comes out of him when he sneezes, something between a sneeze and cough. If we didn't know any better, we would tell him to cut back on those catnip stogies.

Now our hoomin is wobbling about because his legs turned to rubber yesterday. That's when he reconned this is not good.

We'll keep you posted,
- Gus and Charlie

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Gus, "I'm trying to be on my best behaviour, hoomin. Enjoy while it lasts."
Charlie, "Buzz off, hoomin."
Espresso, "Nope, no sir, not a sneeze out of me today."

Good Evening, Everybun!

Espresso ate his pill last night like a champ. It was buried in a fruit mush and hit the gizzard in a couple of gabbles. The good news is we didn't hear a sniffle out of him today. You know, it's hard to get excited here about special days since every day is a Bun Day, and there's a nightly feast ritual with all the trimmings we could ever want.

Of course, if you celebrated today, we hope you had a blast!

Good Night, and Good Luck!
- Gus

PS: How did Espresso end up looking so pink with rage yesterday? To add insult to indignity, the carrier has a pink lining. On the kind of clear and bring day we had yesterday, the car was flooded with bright sunlight, and consequently, the carrier lining threw off a ton of reflected, killer pink light.
