Mr. Bun update

We had a little change for the better this week. We changed how I get my baf. Towel in the sink, about 3 inches of lukewarm water and a bit of TheraNeem shampoo. Container of clean water next to it for rinse.

Hoomin holds me up in the baf till any messy stuff comes off, urine stains clear out. Then I get a rinse dip and off we go to dry. Of course I try to spring out couple of times just to make sure he's paying attention. .... soma***ch does, never lets me get away.

Drying is kind of nice. I sit and rest mostly. My heart rate comes down and I get ALL the head rubs. And ALL the cheek rubs. Then, vaseline goes on my good foot, Calendula cream on all the parts that lost hair. I get baby starch powder too.

So at the moment hairless parts are looking pretty good. No signs of trouble there. My good foot is still the most worrying spot, but it's holding up.

I'll be off to the vet first thing Tuesday morning to get my teeth checked and trimmed if needed. Doc will also check if flush through my tear ducts will help. I didn't like it last time it happened (over a year ago),  but I did really well after that for a long time.

I also have some new pee pads coming from the North Shore company. Supposedly some really nice, premium stuff suitable for hoomins. Very high absorbency and air permeable. We'll keep you posted.

The Disapprovers - waiting...

No, Cleo, we can't talk right now. She watching us. Pretend you're just loving those pellets.

Hm, what are you going to do with it, Mr. Toes?  Don't know yet, probably just nom it.

Yum, fresh hay. And I don't really feel like digging through it to see if anything is hidden there.

My favorite place to be. On the outside noming in. I do have to keep proficient with the sneaking out business though.

We're just not in the mood to plot today. We're waiting for Polly to arrive. We talked about it all week. Should we try to bust before she gets here or wait? So we decided it's better to wait. Let's see what her specialty is? It could come in handy.

- Thank you Renee!

Sure, let's make it memorable. Let's review our evacuation plans. Hurricane season is just around the corner, you know.

Mr. Bun update

Greetings To Everybunny And A Safe And Happy Memorial Day!

We're taking it day by day on the scald front. Hoomin got me every cream he could.

Some spots improved, some... hard to tell. Not getting worse anyway. But not getting worse is not exactly the same as getting better. That is driving my hoomin completely bonkers. Perhaps bunny servants can appreciate that.

He got me a wool blanket, ready to chop it up into sections to put them on top of my soft pads. Before taking the scissors to it, he did a little experiment. Took an eyedropper and squeezed out few drops of water to see hot the wool would wick it away. Hm...., the water droplets stayed on top of it and looked  like they were never going to be absorbed. Interesting. So we have a nice 100% blanket and relatives in colder parts of the country. It's starting to smell like a present, doesn't it ;-)

I've been getting my duff powdered with pure corn starch too. Maybe it's helping.
We're still waiting for the Zymox shampoo to arrive. And we're keeping on, we're keeping on.

Well, It's time for head rubs, so we'll catch you later.

The Disapprovers - getting well-er

I got better since last week. Took my meds, took my time, got my head on straight. Got an idea too.

I got this really funny game going on with my hoomins. I sneak out of my pen and walk back in through the 'front gate'. So they see me come back, but they never see me walk out. As long as they think I'm just messing with them and don't think too much about how I figured it out, we'll be ok.

I cracked their passwords too. We'll talk about that later.

I told him, that might be going a bit far. He can make them think and we don't to do that, do we? Maybe he's not that well in the head yet.

While those two are messin' about, I got a good look at the outside. It turns our you have to be careful what you wish for. You might get it. Will you be ready for it?

The outside is great, but it is as scary as it is wonderful.

Maybe it won't be enough to just pry loose some floor boards and make a run for it. We'll need a good plan 'B' or at least a sure way to get back. Preferably unnoticed. Crowbar and lock pick alone won't do it.

- Thank you Renee!

My hoomin mom went on vacation. Why? What could be better than drudgery in the  greenhouse? ... or pulling weeds out of my dandelion patch?I'll never get those hoomins, nope, no sir.

Mr. Bun update

Not sure if those are the smallest diapers, but they seem small enough. Of course this is in no way an endorsement of any rodent driven international racketeering operation ;-)
Closing tabs are on the bottom facing up and the tail opening is cut out closer to the 'back' side of the diaper.
Bundled up and mad as hell.
Just type in all the special characters, hoomin. That's all I'm gonna glare at you.

As hoomin promised, hoomin dragged me out to the vet this week. My teeth are ok, doc said 'a little pointy, but ok'. Hm.... At least for the moment I don't have to go under to have them corrected. I got a nice baf. Baf was nice, I was not nice about it though.

Doc says 'urin scolds'. Not good. Hoomin always thought that would be a problem. We've noticed the gray pads I love sitting on, do not wick off the moisture as well as we'd hoped. A little bit of urin beads up on the fibers and stays there. A lot of pee does soak through to the undelying liner and we see that when the liners get changed. The problem is the little amount of urin that does not work its way down right away.

Those are the long term maintenance problems. We've been at it close to 1/2 a year now. So we decided to give something else a try. Mrs. Tichy picked up a pack of small Huggies diapers and I've been getting wrapped in them for the night.

Idea is to keep my good leg and front paws free of urin, at least for part of the day.
If you think I hate taking a baf, I really let them know how I feel about the diaper.
It takes 2 hoomins to wrap me in it. One of them is walking around with some decent scratches on his forearms. Oh well, he likes it. You know, marks of honor, earned in the line of service to the bun overlords.

Question to the community: does anyone have any suggestions as to better way of dealing with urin scolds?

The Disapprovers, cntd.

We had a full schedule ahead, preparing for a dry run this week.
Everything was going ok....

... then I noticed something. At first I thought I was slightly banking to the right, so I picked up my right ear to stay ear-level. I go to cross check my compass and turn and bank indictor. Now they both showed I was turning.  I was turning to the left, jut a little, but that was bad enough.

I called up Houston; " We might have a problem. I had to lay down."  Houston comes back, "Major Toes, you have a slight head tilt, you're grounded. Your attitude is great, your indicator - not so much"

Sure enough, doc says "Let's try meds for a few days, see if it clears up".
Meds, I hate meds, but  what's a bunn like me to do?!? I take them and pretend not to like them.

... because if I fuss enough, guess what? A nanner! Yep, sweet, yummeh nanner, served very snappeh. All the nanner I want.

Then there's cuddles and heating wrap, which are all very comfy. I'm hoping that I'll be hopping at full power soon; we'll have a lot of catching up to do. All 3 of us need to be in top shape, the dry run will be no joke.

How long on the meds Major Toes? Doc said 10 days, Cleo.

I don't think he's faking it, but Major Toes does seem to enjoy those nanners a bit too much. I'm a little suspicious.

"Major Toes"?!? What happened to Lieutenant? Anyway, I think Cleo will be watching over his head and I'll have to be on the lookout all by myself.

At least I get to hang out in the kissin' booth.
Hoomin!
I'm ready for your offerings of kissin' and snurglin'!

I have to make sure our hoomins don't get too curious about those floor mats, the floor or why we have such interest in this room. I do like the lookout assignment though, because they pay a lot of attention. Attention to me.

I know I'm not supposed to try anything on my own, not without consulting Cleo and "Major" Toes (shish!). I'm worried that if it gets too quiet here and I'm left to my own devices, I might go about the dry run by myself.

- Thank you Renee!

I wonder whether to nip or not to nip?
Nip, definitely!
