The Bunday Evening Thumps

Charlie, "Because sometimes you need a bunny butt Friday on a Sunday!"

Charlie, "Sure, why not, both lines are open - talk all you want."

Good evening, Everybun!

Of course, the hoomin lizard brains are trying to have a field day with all the stuff going on. So if you need to stare at some floofs - I'm doing my part, and you are most welcome.

So, we looked at the Friends of Unwanted Rabbits website (http://www.friendsofunwantedrabbits.org/) and FB page (https://www.facebook.com/FriendsofUnwantedRabbits) for ways to help the critters in Ukraine. The pickings still appear to be slim. Our best guess is that all the relief and help efforts are still ramping up, and more information will become available as time goes by.

On the FUR page, we found an organization called the VetCrew that is actively trying to help: https://www.facebook.com/vet.crew/ They can be supported via Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/VetCrew

If you have any specific links or information about ways to help, please let us know, and we'll pass them along. Rabbit Aid International (https://www.facebook.com/rabbitaidinternational/) mentioned that people fleeing the war zone can cross the border with Poland without any documents for the critters.

Good night, and good luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

 Greetings, Everybun!

We didn't plan for the blue and yellow background when we took this pic last week. But maybe, just maybe, somebunny knew something would go down. Just when you thought the days of medieval barbarism were behind us, Attila the Vlad said, "Hold my vodka." And so we watch the times convulsing.

My hoomin keeps grumbling that this is precisely the scenario everybun in Poland was afraid of back in December of Nineteen Eighty-One.

Our thoughts are with those in Ukraine, with the helpless and voiceless, and we'll try to do what we can to of service to them. We trust you'll do the same.

We'll keep you posted,
- Charlie

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Espresso, "... your paw moved, hoomin, I didn't move, the chair didn't just, ha! Do you know that a tripod is, hoomin?"

Good evening, Everybun!

One of my hoomins lost her brother early this morning after a prolonged illness. It's been a somber day. And that's how yesterday was one of the good old days. Adam was still with us. Still yet, today is another good old day - because it is.

My hoomin never made good on popping that pack of paper open. But wallowed in arty things anyway. What's a rainbow bridge without the rainbow? Maybe there would be nothing without rainbows?

So, he decided to pester us with his clicker and tried taking HDR pics of us. Of course, the trick is that the subject has to hold still for the camera to take the three pixs it needs to make one HDR image. Good luck with that. I hold still for a second, and then move just in time to break the image and the hoomin's fragile little heart. Espresso is particularly good at it. He knows when the camera took the first two pics, and then he zigs - right in the middle of the third one. And there you have it - a faux halo around His Disapproving Majesty. Perfidiously ruthless.

Eh, no matter how the hoomin tried, he still got a hot spot on my forehead.

Good night, and good luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Fig. 1 A domesticated hoomin overlord suffering from "green mouf" - chlorophyll contamination of the fluff surrounding the mouf. This condition is caused by the abundance of fresh greens and a deep sense of well-being and security.

Greetings, everybun!

My hoomin got this inkling that we could be in the middle of what will become a good old day. There's nothing particularly uplifting or epic about today. Yesterday wasn't much different, and you can pretty much figure out what tomorrow will be like. And yet, there's this myriad of tiny, little things going on. Espresso is loafing with tucks out. I'm trying to extract cookies. No bun has to go to the V. E. T. today.

My hoomin got a nice stack of 24x36 paper and promised to dig into it. Bun, help us.

We'll keep you posted,
- Charlie

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Good evening, Everybun!

My scribe sat down to write down my Bunnily for today and sketched me instead. My rule is that if there's an empty space in my journal, the hoomin has to fill it with some kind of linework.
I was reposing in my favorite loafer, pondering the imponderable.

I thought to myself, "He needs to paint me like one of those french bunnehs." I'm fairly black and white, with endless shades of gray in between, so it shall be a good exercise for him. And now it is written. And it will be the way; ha!

Good night, and good luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Charlie, "Not all messes were created equal, there is such a thing as a 'good mess,' you know. Like my salad, for example."

Charlie and Gus, "Bunn Noir is always in style!"
Greetings, Everybun!

It's fixing to be a mess of a busy day here. The good news is, all the tests my hoomins had come back negative. And the rest? The rest won't last.

Nights are still cool, and the trees are about ready to spring new leaves. And it's barely the middle of February.

We'll keep you posted,

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Good evening, Everybun!

My hoomin got tested again this morning. Now we wait. And wait. Bun wishes there was a "plane to Lisbon" out of this mess. We wait anyway, for forty-eight hours this time.

We'll try to keep level with the horizon and keep the gimbals from locking up. The day is still nice and wintery. As if a big cloud slumbered over the area and drooled with drizzle.

Good night, and good luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Espresso, "Maybe ya need a thump and a nap, eh?"

Gus, "Da thump ... hoomin??"

Greetings, Everybun!

M*nd*y evening
My hoomin comes over and mumbles that only M*nd*y afternoon brings relief from M*nd*y. Because he survived it. Once he steps away from the tar pit and "clocks out," the past weekend gets better. It's just a shame it ended yesterday.

Tuesday
Had a frantic night. My hoomin tried to take a pix of me with apple twigs. Of course, I didn't oblige. And when he wasn't looking, Charlie decided to thumb her nose at the dinner salad and cookies. She got meds. Fun night.

Wednesday
My hoomin checked on Charlie at half-past midnight - she demanded cookies.

No sleep for the hoomin, though. Grouchy. Could've been much worse.

Thursday
Hoomin still not caught up on sleep; overslept; barely made the post before tar pits time.

I'm spending the night with my other hoomin - covid hit home close to home. Hoomins isolating in the house and keeping away from bun another - weird. Salads arrived on time, though.

Friday
Yey! Hoomins still kicking. Both got tested this morning - negative. Anxious rest of the day.

Saturday
Hoomins still isolating and keeping away from each other the best they can. Playing it safe for a couple more days. It feels like Twenty Twenty II is not a pun.

We'll keep you posted,
- Espresso

The Evening Thump Express

Gus, "You've gone bonkers, hoomin! Is that the main course or the appetizer!?"
Apple branch tips and sticks - sweeter than charging cords!

Good evening, Everybun!

It's been a grueling week here. Had promised this post to our friends days ago, and everything became a mess. More about that tomorrow.

We've been testing new treats from LilysBunnyTreats: apple branch tips and sticks. We actually like them, especially the tips. Now, everybun has a different taste, but we've been happily stripping the bark from the sticks. It's something new, and we like this one.

You can enjoy the tips here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/949466202/fresh-apple-branch-tips-box-size-for

And the sticks are here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/944449071/fresh-apple-branch-sticks-box-size-for

And right now you save 10%.

We'll keep you posted,
- Gus

PS: Remember Cutie Pie and Little Guy? Well, they like to eat too, so from time to time we like to look the other way and do something for their hoomins ;-)

Bam-Bam and Pebbles

Pebbles, "I know, hoomin; that's just too punny, eh?"
Bam-Bam, "Hoppy Friday to you too. And - yeah - it is 'beer o'clock' somewhere!"

A neutron goes into a bar and asks the bartender, "How much for a beer?" The bartender replies, "For you, no charge."

- Thank you, Stefanie, Jack, and TBHRR

PS: Bam-Bam and Pebbles are still looking for their forever home. They are still in foster care and it's been years now.
