The Bunday Evening Thumps

Gus, bunstructing the mini salaaaad garden.

Espresso Noir, geeking the camera because he can.

Good Evening, Everybun!

There were no raspberries in the store this morning. My hoomin cooked up a raspberry hay recipe, but you need those pesky raspberries to make it happen. We have some lovely orchard hay from bauntie Susan that would be perfect for this experiment. But you can't just take the blueberries and pretend they are raspberries. Nope, no sir, that won't work. Of course, this means my hoomin will have to do another EBA just for the berries. To be honest, the only reason he went to the store today was to get our greens.

He diligently made a little production out of my salaaaad garden, so I might let hem off the hook for the hay. And yes, we will document the whole raspberry hay adventure right here.

Good Night, and Good Luck, Everybun!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Espresso - any hoomin banananigans are 'Spressly forbidden!

Charlie, visiting Espresso's bundo.

Greetings, Everybun!

The big soak, the soak that is now heading for Auntie Jane (it's official), abated late last night. The frantic, violent steamroll of storms finished its manhandling of La Florida. Now, all is watered - the grass, the ducks, the pineapple my hoomin planted. That pineapple, I tell ya, is doing surprisingly well! The little cawwot plugs he had planted - not so much. Those little guys remained scrawny and frail. We'll have to try that again. Maybe they needed more space in the pots?

And there's no word on the roof work yet. Since it rained all of last week, we recon the roofers must be way behind schedule.

We'll keep you posted,
- Charlie

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Good Evening, Everybun!

It's been a bizarre and maddening week. Since Thursday, my hoomin has been dealing with low-grade anxiety over his tar pits, and it pretty much ate his weekend. He turned into a bit of a zombie since then. Deploying code at one in the morning, not getting any sleep, and dealing with weird side effects of said code did the trick. It will be a relief to face the mess on M*nd*y and clean it up as strange as it sounds. The gig itself is not in danger, but it's going to be a difficult week; we just don't how bad it's going to be.

Also, the roofers might show up as well. Or maybe the week after, we don't know. We're supposed to get a call from them forty-eight hours before the start of work, but that's all we have.

I guess this is the time to remember that things are never as good, or a bad as they seem. We'll just have to overbun somehow.

Good Night and Good Luck!
- Gus

Um, about your weekend plans. They're very absorbent; did you know?!

- Thank you, Brambley Hedge Rabbit Rescue and Erika!

And Ziggy is still looking for his forever home. You can learn more about Ziggy here.

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Good Evening, Everybun!

Ironic, isn't it? Bun sits down to work up a good lather, and right there, the brewing mania goes "poof!" and evaporates. It's probably for the better.
Maybe the madness realizes its place in the grand scheme of things?

If there will be any printed history books in the future, all of today's mayhem will be boiled down to a paragraph. There might even be a picture or two to go with it. And in that picture, made up of thousands of little cyan, magenta, yellow and black dots, our angst will make up a fraction of one of those dots. From a distance, those specs of color will try to fool the reader's eye into perceiving a picture. It will be forgotten as soon as the page is turned.

So, here's to looking up at the stars from a little dot in history!

And, thump! The hoomin ran out of greens for tonight's salaaaad garden!

Good night, and good luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Greetings, Everybunny!

At second number one, Charlie is lounging by the gate, sprawled out, with her tucks out. At second number two, she's withdrawn, balled up, ignores a fresh salaaaaad garden, doesn't care about the raspberries. At second number three, she takes her medicine with little fuss. After a blink of an eternity, she hears the treat bag and runs around like mad, giddy for a bite.

At second number four, or a day later, Espresso is threatening to bite the hoomin holding out a treat. He's pushing away the blades of wheatgrass placed in front of his nose. He's a feisty one. He'll fight the syringe if it's the last thing he'll ever do.

Another blink of an eye goes by, and halfway through the night, some pellets are missing from his bowl. The greens look disturbed. Espresso is loafing, tucks out, a puzzled look on his mouf, "Hey, why are you up in the middle of the night?"

Cancel the mental note to get the carrier ready, to call the vet. Throttle back the dread that this one will take us to the emergency clinic. All of the next second is for sleep. Leave the wreckage of the night as far behind as possible. Another second is just around the corner.

We'll keep you posted,
- Gus

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Good Evening, Everybun!

We had tried to contrive another episode of a dark encounter between my hoomin and Mr. Spressos but had decided against it. If you like the absurd, dark, and stranger than fiction, may we recommend your favorite news outlet?

Over here, the AC went out last Thursday night. Luckily, the technician was able to put hard-wired in place to get up through the long weekend. He'll get the part on M*nd*y or Tuesday to finish the job. It dampened our spirits a bit, especially since the air handler now runs all the time but does not dry the air very thoroughly.

We're OK, though. There's no need for anything too exciting, especially since some hospitals in the area are out of ICU beds. So, it's exciting enough when the salaaaads arrive on time.

If we're fortunate, we get a proper rainstorm or at least a decent shower tonight. The Tampa Bay region is absolutely parched, and this is supposed to be our rainy season.

Good night, and good luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Another edible installation of a salaaaad garden in Buncadia ;-)

Greetings, Everybun!

Everybun is doing well, and we're all coping with the ..., well, we don't know what to call it anymore. The thing out there, we guess. We're dealing with it the best we can.

It turns out that our hoomin plays with our dinners every night. Every salaaaad is now an "installation." But, I have to admit, it tastes as good as it looks, so it's hard to complain about it. Dang, as long as those bowls show up every night, we're OK with it.

We'll keep it short today and hope you'll play it safe celebrating the red, white, and blue. All the best to ya!

We'll keep you posted,
- Espresso
