The Bunday Evening Thumps

Espresso, "I hardly saw him today, no idea where the hoomin went."

Charlie, "Read this one, listen to this: ''It behaves like an imposing , weighty object, but is really just peculiar region of space.*"

Good Evening, Everybun!

Our hoomin spent most of the day working on his special project and had no time to bug us. That's good. The dinner saaaaalad better be on time though and special - "special project" or not. He said it's great to work on a story, but it's been so long since the last one, he thinks his brain broke. Really? It wasn't broken before? So, all that nonsense back then - was that "normal"?!

Good Night, and Good Luck,
- Espresso

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Charlie, "Oh no! You're not thinking again, are you, hoomin?"

Espresso, "Hush up and write, hoomin!"
Greetings, Everybun!

Our hoomin got a surprise project to work on, so we'll keep it kind of short. We're doing well, getting more head rubs than usual since we're on his mind a lot these past few days. You know how sometimes, in the stories, he's on about that "half a chance" and what not? Right, that's what happened, and all of a sudden, he has his "half a chance." So, he'll try to make the best of it.

For once, we will have something to actually keep you posted about!

Benny and June

The wrong tunnel, hoomin! This is not the "snickers and moonshine tunnel"; it's the "raspberry catnip and dandelion mash tunnel!"

- Thank you, Sünje, Kurtis, and SHRR

PS: Benny and June are looking for their forever home. They would love to find plenty of room to explore and be filled with perfect napping spots.

Yes, hoomin, I totally get that you don't have all your fancy stuff here at the home office, but you bunderstand that you need to pay me? A bunana per two shredded pages should do it.

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Gus, "Quit whining, hoomin - you got your two cookies worth seconds!"

Good Evening, Everybun!

So, my hoomins have their "infrastructure week" done. The even better news is that Mr. Plumber doesn't have to come out to fix anything - how about that? Everything else is a pure bunnana gravy!

Maybe we'll give the thumping foot a rest tonight. Yes, we know that tomorrow's a M*nd*y and all that horrible stuff. None of that is going anywhere, is it?

Good Night, and Good Luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Greetings, Everybun!

Today, we're decompressing. Slowly, you have to be patient about it. If you come up too fast, your blood will boil.

As a distraction, my hoomins will take on another plumbing project. Let's hope this one doesn't go sideways. I can sense those Eisenhower-era pipes snickering, ghoulish copper ready to crack, hiss and drip water.

Last M*nd*y, Mr. Plumber repaired the leaky pipe in less than an hour. He used the jackhammer and the chisel only for a few minutes. It felt awful for a moment, but peace and quiet afterward felt amplified and more intense - a very strange sensation.

But today, no matter what happens, we shall loaf.

We'll keep you posted,
- Gus

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Charlie, "Waiting, and waiting - for a plane to Lisbon."
Espresso
Espresso "Noir"

Good Evening, Everybun!

My hoomins woke up to a bit of a nasty surprise today - a puddle of water on the kitchen floor. One of the water pipes coming out of the floor slab by the kitchen sink sprung a tiny, hissy leak. Mr. Plumber will be here tomorrow.

Aaaaah, the charms of Sputnik era copper pipes. The trouble is, for now, we had to turn off the water to the whole house, and we're in a temporary camping mode.

Of course, I didn't have to do anything. I thump, and the hoomins hop to it. But the incident drives home the fragility of the bubbles we live in. The house, the "institutions," our loved ones, the little muscles we don't know exist until we sprain or pull something.

Mr. Plumber will be here in about three-quarters of a day, Wednesday will be here on Wednesday. How long is that? We feel somewhere between nervous and upset to infinity.

Good Night, and Good Luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Gus, "You got way more than five seconds, hoomin."
Espresso, from "Profiles in Disapproval."
Step 1 - think about what you can do to make the world a better place for the bunns, and line the bowls with kudzu leaves.

Step 2 - add some willow leaves.

Step 3 - add the Sarx treats with bunnana chunks, and hope the bunns won't disapprove as much as they did the last time.

Greetings, Everybunny!

Things are looking up a bit over here since yesterday. So, we demanded something of a liturgy this morning, and our hoomin obliged, the trying mind reader he aspires to be. Of course, the day is still very, very young, so we'll have to see where we are later.

Because yesterday, you know, my hoomin didn't feel that great about the state of affairs in the world. But today, we enjoyed a snack of kudzu, willow, and Sarx treat with bunnana chunks. Yes, talk about whiplash.

In other good news, it's a three-day weekend for our hoomin, and we expect the proper worship to continue, with head rubs, treats, and everything else.

We'll keep you posted,
- Gus

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Gus, "I don't care how many seconds will do for you, hoomin - how many cookies you got?!"

Good Evening, Everybun!

Tonight we turn to Gus for help with this edition of the "Evening Thumps." The hoomin snuck out for a secret rendezvous with Mr. Spressos, in what we can only imagine as an attempt to seek comfort and solace.  I call it "looking for dandelions in a hardware store." You can imagine how well it turned out. The hoomin's brain, already mangled, came back minced, just a crust short of a pie.

It's the resoluteness of Gus that is our saving grace in times like these. If you ask him for three seconds, he's liable to give you five because he understands the power of compassion and generosity. Now, if you dare to make any kind of keep eye contact with Gussy - the truth, his gaze will pierce you. Your DNA will be permanently altered, and you will be a different person, so "empaths, beware!"

And thanks to Gus, when the willow and kudzu leaves are down, we realize that the answer to everything in life is not 42, not some guiding star in the firmament, but the sparkle in your bunneh's eye.

Good Night, and Good Luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Charlie, "Really, hoomin? Man-bear-pig is real and he wears a horn-hat?!"

Greetings, Everybun!

Winter came back after a couple of almost-summer days. Then Wednesday showed up. It started well enough as our Ang got her first dose of the Covid vaccine. I'm sure you saw the rest.

My hoomin had hoped to pop one of those mini-snickers that day but decided against it. Something about mixing sugar with everything that went on didn't feel right. The rush of adrenaline was much harsher than any corporate dark roast brew of a swill that you ever tasted. Why risk making a bad situation worse.

We like to think that these days are just an extension of twenty-twenty. Isn't there a song about it - "Meet your new year, same as the old year," or something like that? Now my hoomin got the doom-scrolls again.

At least all this nervous energy is good for doing chores. He got them all done last night, so we'll have two days of messin' about with head rubs, lesson plans, and fun stuff like that.

We'll keep you posted,

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Good Evening, Everybun!

The cold front passed through last night, and skies matched the mood of the end of a holiday break. High overcast and dropping temps made us want to flop over, stretch out our tucks, and pretend to forget what time or day it is.

My hoomin grimly typed away the lesson notes about takeoff and landing practice, or what they call "pattern work." He's been searching for a flicker of a star to hold onto for navigating what's coming. That M*nd*y a few hours away, Wednesday, the next few months.

We kept our eye on him today, and he kept an eye on us, stealing away pics with his clicky thing. I took pity on the hoomin and threw a few still seconds his way. Then I told him, "You're not moving in with us into any of our bundos if that's what you're thinking! Nope, no sir, we disapprove!"

Good Night, and Good Luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Greetings, Everybunny!

And the slide into the "normal," post-holiday way of things is underway. We have another frontal passage in the works, it's gray and groovy outside, and my hoomin is back to work on those pesky lesson plans. Of course, somebunny has to keep an eye on him. He said he didn't want to miss any time with us this morning and improvised a little "flood desk." So, it's a snorgle and head rub galore until we zonk out for the day in our hidey spots.

We'll keep you posted,
- Charlie

Hoppy New Year, Everybunny!

Gus, "Make it a good one, hoomin - I got my eye on ya!"

New Year morning snack bowl.

Hoppy New Year, Everybun!

May we make it a better orbit around the Sun than the last one. And I don't mean more circular if you get my drift.

We started the day with a fresh snack of kudzu and willow, a bit of kale for the base, a sprig of fresh mint, a couple of herbal blends, a chunk of orange, and a little ball of Sarx. Our hoomin promised we'll finish the day with bold spots on our foreheads - from all those head rubs we're supposed to get.

We'll keep you posted,
- Charlie, Espresso, and Gus
