Luca

Hurricane - shmurricane -where's my organic platter I ordered five minutes ago!?

- Thank you, Sünje, Kurtis, and SHRR

PS: Luca was rescued recently and is trying to eat proper food. His attitude and behavior are not betraying any apparent issues, but he's not entirely out of the woods yet.

You can support his care here: https://suncoasthrr.harnessapp.com/wv2/donate?method=one-time,monthly,roundup&selected-method=one-time

And now about the hurricane-shmurricane. Currently, projections indicate the landfall will take place around Port Charlotte, FL. That's roughly 80 - 90 miles southeast of St. Pete, FL.

Now we wait. We'll keep you posted, of course.

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Good evening, Everybun!

The good news is the hurricane prep chores are done, and the generator fired right up. The even better news is that the hurricane track has shifted more directly north and a fresh transport of cookies arrived!

I mean, things were getting really desperate this morning. You harp and beg, scratch or nip, and all you get is a shoosh! Ready for a hurricane my floof.

The bad news is there's plenty of time left for the hurricane to change its mind - so we'll keep you posted.

Luckily my hoomin's wig out over the storm, just short of sobbing like a baby, subsided.

And now we wait. We'll try to get some arty things done too. That's always good.

Good night, and good luck!
- Gus

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Gus, "I don't care what you do or what happens! The salad better be served, eh?"

Espresso, "Murderizing will not be cancelled this week!"

Gus, "Charlie, what's he on about? What's a hurricane? What do you mean you evacuated once before?"

Greetings, Everybun!

It almost sounds like the same old story - something big, wet, and extremely windy is fixin' to learn hoomins a lesson in La Florida. As you may remember, I evacuated once before, a few years back. It's not a pleasant adventure. Right now, my hoomins are getting ready to stay put. Of course, that's what they said back then. It feels like it was yesterday.

But we're set for everything we need to ride it out. At the moment, the landfall of the hurricane is predicted to be sometime late Wednesday or early Thursday morning. Then again, the prediction is not set in stone - it's more like a scribble on beach sand.

My hoomin says the anxiety is doing funny things to his stomach. It's not stasis, but more like the opposite of it.

We'll keep you posted!
- Charlie

PS: This is how things look now. The big blue blob is already massive and growing. It will eventually end up somewhere where the green arrow is pointing...

... this is how it's trying to get here, where the red arrow points. Notice the "2 AM Wed" mark and the letter M - for "major." That means winds over 110 miles per hour.

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Charlie, "Welp, sometimes you're the pellet; sometimes your the bin, hoomin."
Espresso, "Mood, hoomin; it's called 'mood'!"
Gus, "OK, so I stole another show - what's the big deal!?"

Good evening, Everybun!

My hoomin felt a little under the weather since Friday - sore arm, achy - the usual after a booster. But, the word is, it feels good to have it done. Of course, this is kind of for us. You know, so the flow of greens doesn't get interrupted.

In other news, we have to put up with just one more lesson plan that needs to be typed up. I say, "Carrotinis all around!" Now, for a nannerini, finish the rest of the job, OK?

And now for something to thump about. It's been a bizarre week reminiscent of living inside a cubist sculpture. Different planes and perspectives, from the atrocities in Izum and significant sulfuric challenges at work, to the bliss of hanging out with us, cut through and folded on each other. Of course, that wicked treadmill with a Mobius strip inside a hamster ball will wane. Just hang on and sit still - this, too, shall wane.

If you ask me, it's because our altars are always short on cookies. No, you can never have enough cookies on our altars. There's no such thing - everybun knows that.

Good night, and good luck!
- Charlie

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Gussy, "Why? No, it's not too early to go full Fall in the colors! And I control the colors. The clicky thing sees what I tell it to see.

Espresso, "Boo! I'm always watching you!"

Gus, "It's your handsome devil here, a very shady handsome devil - all the way from white to black and back."

Greetings, Everybun!

We are very much looking forward to a chillaxing couple of days. The tropics don't look too bad, all the chores are done, and we have absolutely zero commitments to deal with.

And the weather is on the nice side of things. It rained most of the night, and we're hoping the wildflowers we seeded will finally get around to showing themselves. I know - patience, patience.

We'll keep you posted!

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Good evening, Everybun!

Well, my hoomin turned out to be utterly useless today. Something, something, restless, sleepless night, too much coffee but not enough coffee - short of it, it's gonna be an early night. Thump! It still beats having to chase russian hoards out of Ukraine. Yes, we've been glued to the news updates, watching history in the making, for once heading the right way.

All of a sudden, tomorrow starts to look like a great chance to start over again. And by this time, it will be a four-day work week.

The important part is, of course, that everybun is doing well and - knock on wood - eating like there's no tomorrow!

Good night, and good luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Greetings, Everybunny!

Enjoying the cloudy, rainy day, keeping our eye on the hoomin, the tropics that can't make up their mind. And September - we're trying to enjoy our September.

Our sorry servant has to man a table at a dinner theater later today. Mystery murder presentation or something silly like that. Yes, very sad, anyway ... that's later on, and there's still plenty of daylight left for a decent nap.

Of course, there will be opportunities for subtle acts of defiance during the gig, like packing a sketchbook, doodling the attendees, and whatnot.

We'll keep you posted!

Hoppy Labor Day!

Charlie, "Just a quick, friendly reminder - the staff around here doesn't get no stinkin' day off!"

Charlie, the "Strato Disaprovous," not to be confused with an "Air Mass Storm of Disapproval."
Espresso, "Look, I'm off today, so come up with your own favorite, black and white quote - OK?

Hoppy Labor Day, Everybunny!

We're still chillaxing and promise to work hard on that today. This is one perplexing holiday here. There are no pressures or horror stories associated with it. You don't "have to this" or "have to that."

Want to hang out with friends? Go ahead!

Wanna art all weekend? Sure!

Like to pester us with the clicky thing? Buzz off!

Of course, you can buy yourself something if you're into that kinda stuff, and you'll know exactly what you'll get, and if it's wrong, it's your thumping fault.

We'll keep you posted!

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Gus, "I'm having a hard time deciding if I'm the "Citizen Bunn," or "Citizen Gus" here.

Good evening, Everybun!

It's a tedious business, this decompressing over a long holiday weekend. When a hoomin tries to decompress in your company, you end up with extra head rubs, even cookies. The bad news is that the scoundrel hangs around you all the time. And then he hangs around some more. And suddenly, my quiet, daytime spot in MY bundo loses all its chewed-up charm.

And you have to listen to stuff you don't want to know anything about.
Like this guy Picasso.

Picasso visits Warsaw, Poland, in 1948.
Gets a tour of the city; visits a freshly build apartment complex.
The building material is at least partially made of the city's recycled, ground-up brick and concrete rubble.
He's fascinated by it.
He's inside one of the units.
Is that a piece of charcoal in his pocket, or is he really hoppy to be there?
It doesn't matter - there's a fresh, clean wall in front of Picasso.
He whips it out - the charcoal - from his pocket.
Swish, swish, swish, wiggle, wiggle, swish!
There's a drawing of the Warsaw Mermaid on that wall.
Picasso signs it.
A lady moves into that unit - puts up with a constant stream of visitors who want to see the drawing.
She has her limits.
Fast forward a bit.
"The officials" send in a maintenance guy.
The Mermaid gets washed away with cheap soap and water.
A lick of pink, rosy paint goes over the drawing.

Sounds to me like a master class on impermanence. Or a play.

Oh, how does it tie into this weekend, into the Labor Day holiday? How would I know!? I just chew things here!
But the things that get to hoomins, though.

Good night, and good luck!
- Gus

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Charlie, "Judging you is my favorite pastime, of course."

Espresso, "Um, no, I don't feel like quipping. I mean, you are the quip."
Charlie, "You're looking at me again. Why I are you looking at me again?"
Espresso, "Why, yes! We can put on a Bunnoween show whenever I feel like it."
Always a favorite, "Raspberries on fennel stems."

Greetings, Everybun!

We're enjoying the long weekend with many extra head rubs from our hoomin. The trouble is, last night, the sorry sod didn't get any sleep, drank a pot of coffee this morning, and is ready for a nap. Well - I will have to do another loafing demo and watch him try it.

And after that? We will try to enjoy September. We have been waiting for it for a long, long time.

We'll keep you posted!
