Dora

You DID bring some parsley and mint for me, didn’t you, hoomin? Be an awful shame if I had to Disapprove Of you for not bringing my parsley and mint!

This adorable beauty is shy Dora bunny. I am trying to help her gain some trust in hoomins again. When she first came to the shelter, she would sit at the back of her pen, quivering in fear, especially when a hoomin approached her. I think she is gradually learning that not all hoomins want to hurt her. I want to nose-bonk her, and give her head-rubs and tell her how pretty she is! It's a gradual process, but I hope she will trust us more eventually. She’s a beautiful girl!

- Thank you Fleetie!

Good job, Fleetie. She seems confident and ready to claim what is rightfully hers!

Dora hand-feeding on some yummeh mint leaves!

Sometimes, Dora will let me hand-feed her, and sometimes she's still too shy.

Do you think maybe she is just teaching you not to take her for granted?

Dora is a-Dora-ble! Fleetie, you seem to have some well-developed bunny whispering skills; in time, I'm sure she will be happily bossing you to give her nose rubs and demand frequent reminders of her beauty :)

I hope so. But I only get to see her on Saturday afternoons, and not even every Saturday. I need more! :-)

We're slow. Some of slower than others. Stick with it. She'll get you trained up right. She has the look of one who can do it well!

I hope so. I'd much rather she be giving me bunnitude, than being frightened of me.

There is still a way to go. But I care about her, so I'll keep trying. I just hope* she's still there when I get there on Saturday. I wasn't able to go to the shelter this last Saturday. Not my turn to socialise with the bunnies. :-(

* Well I also hope she finds a loving forever home. Of course. But you know what I mean.
