Rose

"Go away, hoomin! My opinion of you is sitting on the floor in front of me."
Fleetie reports:
This is Rose. And this time, it was a very real, very genuine Disapproval.

Rose, shown here, Disapproving Of me, loves head-rubs.
And she and Petal were crouched down for head-rubs, next to
each other, so I stroked each bunny’s head in turn.

But after not long, Rose got up and hopped off in a bad mood.
She DID NOT WANT to share having head-rubs with Petal!
She wanted to have my undivided attention, and not have to share the
head-rubs with Petal, or indeed anybun.

She hopped off and sat in the corner of her pen, and Disapproved of me
for a long time. She would not come for head-rubs at all.

Believe me, she packs a stern, powerful Disapproval!

- Thank you Fleetie!

Fleetie, we have bunns who reconcile themselves to sharing by both presenting their heads at the same time side by side. It's like having a pair of bunny bedroom slippers walking over and stopping in front of you. Both bunnies get their head and ears stroked at the same time by the same hand. The little guys can be such a mystery. Perhaps, Rose didn't think you should bother with a petal when you had a whole blossom to attend. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all you do for the bunns. I'm sure Rose didn't really mean what she said, her option you know.

I meant to say her "first offered opinion." Did I thank you?

It's a wonder Fleetie has the strength to tell about it, with Rose disapproving of him so hard. Perhaps if he quit his other job and worked full time on bun needs?

Maybe it is just the angle of the photograph. Rose is maybe actually smiling with delight but it just doesn't look like it.

Hell hath no fury like a Rose-bun scorned...really, Fleetie! You should know to always give a young lady your undivided attention. I hope you at least grovelled and administered ample treats?

Fleetie, you're fortunate Rose hopped off. We'd hate to read about you in the papers.

Hmm. I did get Totally Disapproved Of.

I tried to coax her out of the corner for head-rubs, but she wasn't having it at all.

I'm probably lucky I did leave when I did; I might have suffered Disapproval Burns! Just look at that withering Disapproval!

In the end I just left her to it. I had other bunnies to tend to.

Unfortunately, this time, Rose and Petal did not align themselves for head-rubs in such a way that I could stroke them both with one hand. And the way I was sitting in the cramped space, using two hands was impractical.

I had better offer her head-rubs alone next time - if she'll let me!
