Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Gus, "Yes, yes - that's MISTER handsome devil, to you, hoomin!"
Charlie, "See the problem? There's nothing to get stuck in my teeth!"

Hellos, Everybun!

My hoomin still tested positive as of last Thursday. We're in the third week of this mess right now. Go figure.

It's the old routine of putting one paw in front of the other. By evening time, there's nothing left in the tank except fatigue and insanity. A little bit of comfort reading helps.

Lem's "The Astronauts" is a fascinating piece. As one of his early works, it is widely shunned, mainly for certain geopolitical musings at the story's beginning. Lem never liked it, but then again, he never liked any of his "hard sci-fi" stories and often claimed he wrote them to pay bills. But as a stepping stone to his other works, it offers a rare insight into the evolution of certain motifs appearing in later works.

Another thing worth considering is that "The Astronauts" or "The Invincible" act as "gateway" stories into Lem's philosophical multiverse.

We'll keep you posted!

Tell the hooms they need to get well soon! Keep the one paw in front of the other going. Rocky says, "ebbyting going to be alright"
