The Bunday Evening Thumps

Gus, "Dream on, hoomin."
Charlie, "Close but no cookie, hoomin. Just kidding - not even close."
"Graham Cracker and Mel" ... I think we're done with "color studies."

Good evening, Everybun!

We loafed in the middle of the room early this morning. Charlie sprawled out, tucks out, and looked straight at the hoomin. I sat upright behind Charlie and to the right.

The poor hoomin saw us, across the gate, from the hallway. I could hear him thinking, "... and now Olympia is a bunny." I knew he wanted to snap a pic of the scene. He knew the scene would disappear the second he moved to grab the camera or turn on the light. The room was too dark even for the good camera.

The hoomin went for it, of course - and tried to turn on the lights in the corner of the room. The scene vanished. Indignant, "the scene" demanded a treat - for the audacity of being observed. We were on his tail, trying to give him another opportunity to fulfill his existential obligation - to serve us and to serve us something yammeh!

I can still hear the whining and lamentations under my hoomin's cranial plates. So sorry - not sorry, hoomin! Yes, Charlie is Olympia, and Olympia is Charlie.

Good night, and good luck!

- Gus

PS: I think we're done fiddling with the digital study for "Graham Cracker and Mel." We will let the study sit for a bit without looking at it, hoping to get at least some fresh perspective on it.

And this is the Olympia we are on about (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/6a/Manet%2C_Edouard_-_Olympia%2C_1863.jpg)
