Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Gus, "Dang, that was a pretty good week!"
Charlie, "I poop in the general direction of your clean up."
Espresso, "That's great, now cut it out already!"

Hellos, Everybunny!

We are hoppy to report a huge win for rabbits in the area. On Thursday, the City Council of St. Petersburg, Florida, unanimously passed the ban on retail sales of rabbits in pet stores!

Our buntie Susan spoke up for us, and many other bunn people followed her, giving voice to the voiceless.

You can see the bunn-related portion of the hearing right here:
https://stpete.granicus.com/MediaPlayer.php?view_id=15&clip_id=6148&meta_id=125510

But I sayz it must have been my disapproving mouf that hoomin attached to his politely worded letter to the Council!

And what did WE get when Friday rolled around? A clean-up day - that's what. We had to re-poop everything everywhere because the silly biped "cleaned up" the bins and whatnot. What he really wanted was to get the tar pit day off of him. We let him enjoy that for a minute.

This morning, my hairless wonder declared he was ready for the weekend - all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. What the thump?

He says he can think about what's going on with his medical adventures through art metaphors for the first time ever. It's a relief because describing everything in the flying tongue becomes one-dimensional, grim, and panicky. It felt crippling and stifling to be stuck in a single universe. Good on him, but we have to get on with naps and loafs. And Bun help us - he'll probably brush us or something - thump!

We'll keep you posted!
- Gus

PS: If you're the circus-going type, we have an idea. Try to schedule and coordinate a medical procedure, a couple of blood draws, and a follow-up or two. It's a divine experience - Fellini is jealous.  (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federico_Fellini)

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Charlie, "More!"
Gus, "Commissioner Gus? He's on vacation and will be back when he feels like it."
"Graham Cracker and Mel" - Vector is on top of the project ;-)

Good evening, Everybunny!

It's been a quiet weekend around this burrow. My hoomin tried to chillax, loaf, and art as much he could. We made some space for him. "Graham Cracker and Mel" is finally traced on the big canvas, and we have a backup tracing of the line work on a full-size sheet of vellum. The piece will be painted in sections, progressing from the background to the foreground. For example, when the light blue background is done, we'll trace the bunnanas over that and then paint them in. So, the big tracing will serve as a guide for positioning the smaller elements. Hopefully, we'll get some paint down tonight if all goes well.

Let's rewind back to Friday for a moment. After the appointment, my hoomins went to the Tampa Museum of Art. And my Bun - it was a treat! Our Disapproving kind was well represented. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't mess with those bunns from Jasmin Joseph's pieces.

The plan for the next few weeks is straightforward - wings level and art.

Good night, and good luck!
- Gus

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Gus, "Whaaa!? Good grief, hoomin - what are you doing under my wicker box!?"
Espresso, "Loaf, loaf, baby!"
Gus, "Of course it's not the same pic as last week - my disdain is of a slightly different inclination."
Espresso at the V. E. T. - oh, somebunny lobes him berry much! ;-)

Hoppy Autumn Equinox, Everybunny!

Spressy went for his checkup on Tuesday and spent most of the day at the V. E. T. He got overdoated as usual, but nothing's ever good enough for the grump. For now, we're managing with baby Claritin, occasional "murderizer in the nebulizer" treatments, and monitoring. We're still looking for any buggers, should they dare to show up.

In other news, my hoomin finally got his consult at Moffit. The good doctors were mostly scratching their heads and recommended a bone marrow biopsy. What did the sorry sod ever do to tick off the karma bus driver like that, LOL? Anyway, the thing is scheduled for the middle of October. Now we wait some more.

But I tell ya what - the Autumn Equinox brought us some nice weather! It's cooler and dryer and a bunderful reminder that it's worth hanging in there.

We'll keep you posted!
- Gus

PS: We were dropping hints at the V. E. T. that if they ever put a coffee bar in the lobby of Steele Animal Hospital, we might never leave. Danielle likes the idea ;-)

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Gus, "The thump!? Stealing my pellets again!"
Espresso and Charlie
Gus, "All the cookies better be unmarked, and non-sequential!"

Good evening, Everybun!

The word from the V. E. T. was, "Can you bring him in on Tuesday?" So, my buddy murderizer will have to see the doc. And not a day too soon. The sneezing just didn't go away this time. Sigh, there are no scenic spots when you get to Wit's End.

In other news, my hoomin is a little bit concerned that I make such a good, corrupt politician. I sayz, you take your wins however you can, and don't look your gifts in the mouf. Or something like that!

Good night, and good luck!
- Gus

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Charlie, "You understand that every day is a judgment day, right?"
Gus, "Of course I'm smiling!"
Espresso, "Friday evening cobalt blues, eh?"

Greetings, Everybun!

Espresso is doing better, but he's not entirely "sneeze-free." He'll be quiet for a long time, then make one of those "harumph" sounds - not exactly a sneeze, and not a cough either. We expect the V. E. T. will tell us today to stop the eye drops (he's been getting a drop in each eye twice a day) and watch what happens. Sigh.

I guess we'll turn to enjoying the shorter day and pretend that Fall is just around the bend. The weather outside teases us, being a little cooler than the usual inferno.

And if we're lucky, we'll get some art done.

Hey, Universe - here's a shout-out and a huge Thank You to the very nice hoomin that dropped off our art supplies lost by fedex. Several days after the scheduled delivery, someone dropped off the box while my hoomins were out to get my greens. Something like that leaves bun hopeful that maybe not all is lost for humanity.

We'll keep you posted!
- Charlie

PS: No, you damned dirty spellchecker - fedex does not get the proper capitalization.

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Gussy, "Why, yes! That's a magic plant right there because all plants are magical."
Spressy, "Oh, you're gonna lecture me on the right way to loaf, eh?"
Charlie, "Refill, hoomin, I need a refill!"
Gus, "The Committee will be hoppy to answer your questions if the bribes are right."

Good evening, Everybun!

And here goes the weekend that already felt short on Friday. But Spressy had a good night, and his sneezing subsided. I know, I know - Spressy this and Spressy that. Of course, we're still on the lookout for any buggers - the culture collection kit is itching to collect something!

My hoomin visited with the rescue today and took more pixes of the buns looking for forever homes. It's always a humbling experience to be around those bunns.

Good night, and good luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Spressy, "I'm not the patient of the V. E. T. - they are MY v. e. t.!"
Gus, "Oh boo thumping hoo - it's all 'Spressy this,' and 'Spressy that."

Hellos, Everybunny!

After the extra long weekend last week, we'll have to make do with only a couple days off. Sigh. But we'll try.

My hoomin just returned from the third run to the V. E. T. this week. First, we got a specimen collection kit - we were trying to take one of Spressy's buggers alive. We were late, of course. The loogie disappeared, never to surface again. Yesterday, Spressy went to see his favorite folks at the vet and got his tear ducts flushed - again. He's back on the eye drop for a few days and had a sneeze-free night. But this morning, we had to get a refill on those drops - another run to the V. E. T.

At least the weather has been really bunderful, with cooler breezes and such - a far cry from the ambiance of an outdoor crematorium we enjoyed all summer.

And to top it all off, Hurricane Lee will not be visiting with us.

We'll keep you posted!

Hoppy Labour Day, Everybunny!

Gus, "You want a day off? What's that? Like "off with your head day" or something?"
Espresso, "Not to belabour the point, but it's a Labour Day - right? So I suggest you better labour."

Hoppy Labour Day, Everybunny!

We would like to wish you a safe and fun Labour Day! Free of fires, floods, earthquakes, and other fun of that ilk.

Here, I'll be making sure that my hoomin continues to "work hard for the bunny," if you get my drift.

We'll keep you posted!
