The Bunday Evening Thumps

Espresso
Charlie
Gus

Good evening, Everybun!

It's been a quiet day for us, with tons of head rubs and doting. I had a quiet night, with almost no sneezes. Yes, I did try to take it easy on my hoomin. No bun's perfect, and I do have moments of weakness from thump to thump.

The painting received the second coat of gloss varnish, and the headspace started to fill with Gizmo.

We're all trying to rest up. My hoomin, of course, is trying to "hurry up and rest." I sayz, "Good luck with that!"

Good night, and good luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Gus
Charlie and Espresso
Charlie

Hellos, Everybunny!

It's been a rough week with me sneezing. The once-a-day eye drops and nebulizing just make me mad. And on Tuesday, I had my first injection of Baytril.

This morning, I had a quick visit to the V. E. T. to get the second shot of antibiotic (Baytril), and we're finally all settled into the weekend. That's mostly loafing for us, the Bealzebun Of Easter. We need it. My hoomin will art.

Today we'll take a few pictures of Graham Cracker and Mel. In the evening we'll put a coat of glossy varnish on the piece  and we'll starting thinking about how to ship it.

It's a bittersweet feeling to part with a friend like that who's emerged from the nightmare of the year past. But sketches for a new piece are underway.

We'll keep you posted!

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Espresso
Gus and Charlie
Gus and Charlie
"Graham Cracker and Mel" - final touchups
"Espresso, Charlie, and Gus" by Danielle

Good evening, Everybun!

The good news is we had a couple of cozy, quiet days. I did have some sneezing fits, and it looks like I'll get doctorized again next week - tomorrow or Tuesday at the latest. My hoomin thinks those NeoPolyDex drops irritate me when they work their way down my nasal passages. It's only one drop in each eye, but still. I had a good day today, and that's all I care about.

My hoomin made good on the promise to finish Graham Cracker and Mel. When the touch-ups are dry, we'll give it a coat of matt varnish, take a few pics, and give it a coat of gloss varnish to bring out the colors. And that's all. It's hard to believe a year has gone by since he started that piece. And everything that has happened since.

On a cheery note, we have another little treasure from Danielle at the V. E. T. - a pic of all three of us. And my hoomin loves it, of course. Just imagine - scale the drawing to thirty by forty inches, trace it, and go bunnanas with colors!

Goodnight, and good luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Gus
Espresso and Charlie
Charlie and Gus

Hellos, Everybuny!

Somebody told me Spring is here and I didn't even notice. Then again, I had a bit on my mind lately. The good news is I'm back to normal. And my hoomin? Not so much. He's still a little on the freaked-out side of things.

Spressy's sneezing came back, and he's back on the drops of NeoPolyDex. He might be going back for a recheck next week, but for now, we're all hidden out of sight for the day. My hoomin tried to sleep in, and of course, we had none of that. There was bunstructing, jumping off the bundos, and throwing around everything we could get our teeth on.

Eventually, the treats were dispensed, then fresh pee puddles were made, pellets lefts everywhere, and "Have a nice Saturday, you dolt!" waz said.

We'll keep you posted!

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Charlie and Espresso
Gus
Charlie and Espresso

Good evening, Everybun!

We've tried to make it a quiet day. My hoomin is still trying to process Gus's adventure with stasis from last week. It turns out to be a lot harder than expected.

The little guy is doing OK for now, but my hoom is still watching him very clsoely. Will he keep eating on his own? Gus seems to have lost his appetite for treats - go figure! He'd rather eat hay - which is buntastic, of course, but he seems different now.

And how does he get water!? It's a head-scratcher because you would never see Gus slurping water out of the bowl. So, what gives? Does he absorb water out of the air or something? How secretive is he?

And last but not least, my hoom got to do some arting, and he's as hoppy as a bun in a veg patch!

Good night, and good luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Gus, Saturday morning
Gus, sometime during the week
Gus, sometime during the week
Gus, starting to come around, Tuesday evening

Hellos, Everybunny!

Thank you, everybunny, for your well-wishes and inquiries!

I started making a comeback late Sunday night last week. That's when I got unstuck, and things started to move through me,  and we got a sense that I might pull through. But it's been a "one paw in the grave - one paw on the pedal" kinda week. At no bun left me out in the thicket, if you catch my drift.

I went to my regular V. E. T. on M*nd*y and stayed there all day. I went back to them on Tuesday for a re-check. My appetite is back, and so is life in my little disapproving eyes.

My hoomin is still watching me very closely and tries to read my poops and is generally ecstatic that I'm not dead yet.

If all goes well, the plan is to catch up on rest this weekend. Even I will get to sleep through the day unbothered. I wonder what that's like!?

We'll keep you posted!

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Good evening, Everybun!

This is Espresso, filling in for Gus this evening. We're not out of the woods yet. Honestly, we're unsure which way the edge of the woods is? My little friend stayed the night at the emergency vet and returned this morning. He's still having a hard time passing pellets.

Bunty Susan brought gas drops and Metacam, administered a gentle belleh massage and ran a few laps around the room with him. Then we got a pellet out of the little murderee. Here's to another one!

For now, we're hanging on again till the morning when our regular V. E. T. opens up. We'll run back to the ER if we have to, though.

Good night, and good luck!

PS: The word is he just passed a chunk of poop!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Hellos, Everybunny!

It's been a trying twenty-four hours around here since I stopped eating on Friday. Since then, I've been getting some syringe water and recovery food, plus 0.5cc of Metoproclamide every twelve hours.

We got back from the v. e. t. a short while back. I got x-rays,  fluids, and pain meds. I'm stuffed up. If I don't start eating and pooping by tonight, to the ER we'll go.

Here's to a poop-full update tomorrow, and keep your paws crossed for me.

We'll keep you posted!

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Charlie and Espresso
"Graham Cracker and Mel" - the Fauvists are coming ;-)
Gus
"Graham Cracker and Mel" - what if?

Good evening, Everybun!

We were all on the same page today - loafing and pushing nothing.

My hoomin touched up the painting and, as he was afraid he would, laid the base for the next piece. As we napped, he taped another piece of velum over the figure of Graham Cracker and brought out a little bit of Graham's fauvist soul. So, there's a good chance Graham will return with Andre, perhaps Salvadore.

What's left now are fixes for all kinds of minor nicks, blotches, and accidental "oopses." A signature and a coat of varnish. A decent photo of the piece would be nice to have - Bun willing.

And now for something completely different. As much as my hoomin enjoyed the good news from the doctor on Friday, there's a bit of a heavy, darker lining to that "cloud nine." The fatigue corroding everything my hoomin touches is most likely brought on by the medication. Even though it's not crippling, it does try to push certain things off the table, like a little, perfidious cat. Well,  I sayz, "Don't worry - we'll chew on it - then through it."

Goodnight, and good luck!
