Hot, sticky, hairy dog day of summer. Our morning festivities were acceptable, and the biped got out of our hair right on time. He did his unusual half-day at the tar pit and came home with a new, blank canvas. The vast, blank surface is terrifying.
His work is changing again, and he's trying to process that. It's still going to be the same pit, same people, same ladle and cauldron, but different tar formulation. The bottom line is our cookie supplies will have no interruptions.
Last but not least, there's a new blob in the Gulf, and it should keep us well-watered over the next week. Hopefully, nothing else will come of it.
And Charlie's portrait - we think it's very close to being done.
Good night and good luck!
- Gus

Hellos, Everybunny!
We're doing well and have nothing new to report. Charlie likes to run around the place a lot. Mostly tries to trip up the hoomin. Of course, I try to do my fair share and do the best I can to keep up with her.
Charlie has a follow-up appointment next week to see how the sludge is doing. Hopefully, there won't be much to do anything.
My hoomin has to work tomorrow, so we'll have to get our arting antics done early. Thank Bun next week is a long weekend.
We'll keep you posted!

Bun evening, Everybun!
Let me ask you - can you jump higher than your butt? I'm serious. I can't. No matter how hard I try. It's always there; can't outrun it; can't nothing. Now - let's not get into word splitting - send a clip instead. And hold that thought.
We're doing well, and Charlie lives up to her nickname, "Zoomer" - runs around after cookies like a new bunn.
We had our usual morning frenzy of chasing after teats and noming of apple twigs. And let me tell you, when the hoomin is desperate for a pose or two, that's the best time to take him for all the cookies he's got! And then, right before slinking away for a nap, we got into a discussion about how bacteria poison and eat their resources (https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.ady7008)!
Do you recall how we whined yesterday about the world getting nuttier by the minute? It all makes sense now. See - you can't jump higher than your butt. Hoomins are not yet ready to better their surrounding bacteria - that's all. Maybe they will someday, but I wouldn't hold my breath - hoomin are not perfect, they're not bunnies.
Thank Bun, the day is still young, though. When the napping and loafing are done, we'll shake down the sorry sod for more treats. He's defenseless when he's arting. And there's gonna be a lot of that tonight.
Good night and good luck!
- Gus
P.S.: At this point, changes to Charlie's portrait will be incremental and sometimes hard to pick up. We'll show off something next weekend.

Hellos, Everybunny!
We're doing well. I mean, Gus and I. And the hoomin? Eh, they're trying. Sometimes, they're very trying. Like yesterday evening - they wrestled me down to give me sub-q fluids. At least it went well, and it was over before long. Then, I scored a little plate of "apology treats."
This morning, we celebrated the days getting shorter. Apple twigs and extra treats for everybun! Even a little bit helps.
As you can see, we got nothing. Zip. It's hot, the world is going to thump in a paw basket, and the problems of two little buns don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world.
There will be arting later on because my portrait still refuses to finish itself, and the eternal putting of one paw in front of the other will continue.
We'll keep you posted!

Apple twigs and coffee. That's what we had first thing in the morning with our hoomin. I said, "Here, have an apple twig." But the hoomin declined and said his tooth ain't what it used to be. "Fine, have your coffee, but keep it away from me," I said.
This is us still adjusting to the change in our diet. We're doing fine, but it's the hoomin that's still trying to get used to it.
And so we squeezed all we could from the morning and bun another. Extraaaa treats from the biped and extra poses from us.
Everybunny enjoyed a lazy, no-news Bun Day of Summer. Arting resumed in the afternoon. That's when Charlie's big sigh came because it's been hard to tell where the hoomin going with her portrait. Beginnings can be rough and can take a lot out of you. It's probably too early to judge; something is happening, and if all goes well, maybe he'll pull it out of a ditch yet.
Good night and good luck!
- Gus
Bun morning, Everybun!
The good news is we're doing well. Charlie's as vibrant as ever, and our hoomin marvels at our golden nugget deposits. When I say "vibrant," I mean it - you should see her run after cookies.
Charlie's portrait is off to a good start - the biped did the line work tracing on the canvas - under our strict supervision, of course.
I kept looking at the background and the tracing and wondered since the hydrogen in my body came from the Big Bang, which star made my Oxygen? Anybunny? Vega? Arcturus? Our own little, medium size main sequence star?
When my hoomin cradles me in his paws, and we walk up to a window at night, we look at the sky, and I wonder, "Where did all my O come from?" I feel like an orphan not knowing.
In other news, it's getting hotter and hotter here, and it's not even summer yet! So, we're going to draw the blinds and try to chill. I even invited the biped to stretch next to our bondo. We'll goof off and art later.
We'll keep you posted!

Chillaxing is still the order of the day. You'd think my hoomin hot script for napping the way he's been so diligent about it. Of course, we take priority, so as long as my whims are satisfied - I don't care what the biped does.
And that's the excitement for today. Charlie's portrait is at a standstill. We'll do more background work because the printout of the line work we need to move along won't be ready until tomorrow. Go figure, the machine at Kinko's knew when to break down. Wait - what? It's not Kinko's anymore, but FedEx? What's your point? You sure seem to be close to my lawn - get any closer, and I'll tell you to get off it.
Yes, I get cranky. My hoomin thinks I want head rubs when I don't, and I get cranky. Cookies are late - I get cranky. I'm bored - and guess what? You get the idea.
In all seriousness, my hoomin really believes every moment with us is a gift and treats us accordingly, and sometimes that's overbearing.
Good night and good luck!
- Gus
Hellos, Everybun!
The good news is we have nothing to scream and thump about. Last night, Charlie got her sub-q fluids at home. And I don't know what the hoomins did, but Charlie didn't spiral into panic and didn't go into hiding. As if she didn't hate the hoomins! She wanted cookies afterward as if nothing ever happened! Dang, how did that happen!?We'll keep you posted!

PS: Storm Cloud and AJ to the V.E.T this past Saturday. AJ didn't feel well, and it got traced back to urine sludge - doesn't that ring a bell? Storm Cloud kept him company and was otherwise free to ruminate and plot revenge for the indignities they both endured. BHRR: http://bhrabbitrescue.orgGood evening, Everybun!
And just like that, the Year of May is gone, and the New Year of June is already trying to outdo the previous one.
We found out that a couple of our friends are moving to Europe pretty soon. Of course, their warren is going with them. And that's how you do it. But it's an awful lot to process all of a sudden.
The good news is Charlie is back to her usual self. She even stopped hating on the hoomin. Her appetite is great, and her pellets are golden.
Unfortunately, I doubt I can whip anything else out of my scribe today. He's going a little catatonic on me right now. Maybe I can revive him with a nip or make him smell some acrylics or something?
At least the afternoon is still young, and we have a lot of room left for art. The background for Charlie's portrait is moving along.
Good night and good luck!
- Gus
Hellos, Everybun!
It's been an unnerving week around - again. Charlie and I went to the V.E.T. with our hoomins this past Thursday. The meat bag administered Charlie's sub-q fluids under the watchful eye of a bun nurse. Well, nobunny died, but Charlie hated my hoomin's guts for two days. He's gonna have to do better than that.
The good news is we're doing well otherwise. Eating, pooping, and all that stuff that lets hoomins sleep easy at night. You take the wins that you can.
We'll keep you posted!
