Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Espresso, "Extra treats or I vent. Stat!"

Gus, "OK, hoomin, this is what 'more luck than brains' looks like. Use it as you please, but you know, you'll have to paint me like this."

Hellos, Everybunny!

We're enjoying a lazy bunday and helping our hoomin to decompress - slowly. Ya don't want to decompress too quickly during days like these. Ya know, emotional bends are a terrible business.

The meet-and-greet with the Suncoast House Rabbit Rescue yesterday was absolutely bunderful! Madonna, Cooper, and Sadie were very generous, and we can't wait to share their disapproval.

Speaking of disapproval, what is the proper chemical symbol for disapproval? We ask because, well, just look at Espresso. He's like a tank of disapproval. And as everybun usually likes to decompress, he seems to thrive on compressing. Compressing all the disapproval he can into his personality.

We'll keep you posted,

- Gus

The Saturday Morning Thumps

Good Morning, Everybunny and welcome to the morning edition
of The Saturday Morning Thumps.

When bun knows there's going to be thumping,  bun may as well get on with it.

First thing this past M*nd*y morning, our hoomin discovered that his father passed away. It wasn't our hoomin that did the discovering though. He came to the house and had to call 911 for a wellness check.  The two police officers that arrived did the discovering. The last time our hoomin saw his dad was Saturday morning. M*nd*y, he was supposed to take his father to a doctor's appointment in the morning. It was supposed to be just a routine checkup. Well, nothing was routine after that.

Wednesday afternoon, our friend Jim passed away at Hospice. You know, the Apollo era guy. So here we are, trying to muddle our way through the hazy, surreal "days after."

The plan for today is to recover a bit and get on with something creative.
The Suncoast House Rabbit Rescue is doing a mee-and-greet in North Tampa, so that's where our hoomin is going. We'll deal with the next week as it unfolds.

We'll keep you posted,
- Gus

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Espresso, "Remember what the doc said - a chunk of pineapple a day. Got it?"

Charlie, "I got nothing, just nothing."

Gus, "Did you notice a lot of grain the in pics lately? It because sometimes, my hoomin is using a very high ISO setting on the camera. At least with the cheap thing he using, the higher the ISO, the more grainy the image. But, if you turn the image black and white, the grain turns it more artsy 'artsy.' And voilà, you have 'Gus Noir'!"

Good Evening, Everybun!

Like it or not, we have us something to thump about.

It's been one of those weeks when things go from bad and dark like the morning coffee to grim.

On M*nd*y, the tar pits ent into bankruptcy. The good news is it's Chapter 11 protection and not Chapter 7 liquidation. Tuesday morning, Espresso refused his treats and went to the V. E. T. The good news is he's doing well again.

Our friend, Jim, the one of the Apollo-era (Jim worked on the testing the heatshield material for the Mercury spacecraft) suffered another stroke. Then suffered another one on Thursday. The good news is he's not in any pain. And never again will be. Family and friends are saying their final goodbyes.

I sayz to my hoomin, "Look, you're just gonna have to try to overbun. Go, cook me something yammeh and take pics; try to art; stick one paw in front of the other."

We'll keep you posted,
- Gus

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

"Just call me 'Mr. Spresso,' Mr. Hoomin."

Greetings, Everybun!

Everybun is doing well. There's even a hit of Fall in the air. Somebun up there dialed down big broiler in the sky and humidity dropped as well. In the mornings, my hoomin reads to me as he studies, and I'm sure I'll have a bald spot on my head from all the head rubs.

Wait, Mr. Hoomin, read it again.

Read what again, Mr. Spresso? The "Enroute Spacing Program?

Yes, that one.

Sure, "Enroute Spacing Program - A program designed to assist exit sector in achieving the required in-trail spacing."

There you go, Mr. Hoomin! Change one letter in that paragraph, and you have yourself a story.

Right, you let that pineapple ferment before you ate it, did you, Mr. Spresso?

I'm serious. Correct me if I'm wrong, Mr. Hoomin. Halloween is coming, and you could use a story for that occasion, couldn't you?

Sure I could. OK, humor me, Mr. Spresso, will ya?

I'm starting to feel disappointed, Mr. Hoomin; "The required en-trail spacing." Got it? If you space those en-trails properly, you will have some left for a garter. And I don't want any credit for that one. We never spoke about it, and I don't know you, you understand, Mr. Hoomin.

It's a bit of a stretch, don't you think, Mr. Spresso?

Don't push it, Mr. Hoomin.

 We'll keep you posted,
- Espresso

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Espresso, "What did you call me?"
Charlie, "Are you skimping on the raspberries?"
Gus, "A mid-day snack; what's he on about?"
Wheatgrass and dandelion with pineapple chunks and half a raspberry.

Good Evening, Everybun!

"Hey, King Spresso! How you like a raspberry facial, you vegan dog, you?" said my hoomin.

"What you on about?" I said.

"Well, here's this article in The Guardian about how pets get pampered these days." said the hoomin.

"Did you call me a pet, you dolt?" I barked and raised my eyebrow.

"No, of course not, I'd never call you a pet. I'm your pet; you know that, right? I swear!" groveled the hoomin. I stared at him with narrow eyes and hissed, "Don't let yourself slip like this again."

"Are you going to write to them about how woefully inadequate their treatment of lagomorphs was in that article?"

"I thought about it," said the hoomin.

"Good, make me a treat then and send them a pic. You know, maybe some wheatgrass and pineapple, with a touch of raspberry sauce, eh?"

"Yes sir, that's a very good idea, sir! Would you like to proof the letter, sir?" quivered the hoomin.

"Nope, just report back when you're done. And make it snappeh," I said.

We'll keep you posted,

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Gus, "What's that?!? Is it heading this way? What is that orange blob?"

Greetings, Everybun!

It's been a quiet week if you don't count the tropics lighting up with activity like fireworks. For now, we're just knocking on wood, hoping that big, orange area will simply fly off into the Atlantic without scraping anybun.

Aside from that, our hoomins are trying to will some proper Fall weather to materialize. Because, you know, it's after Labour Day. So it should be cooling off.
I sayz, "Try North Dakota. Did you think about moving to North Dakota? I will take a year or two before you can grow nanners over there, but you know, you can't have everything."

We'll keep you posted,
- Gus

Bunday Evening Thumps - The National UFO Reporting Center

Good Evening, Everybun!

Guess what, Spresso?

What?

There's an office called the National UFO Reporting Center!

Oh, really?

Really! But, this is kind of funny, there's a comma followed by "etc." after its name.

Where, where did you find that Mr. Hoomin?

In the "Aeronautical Information Manual," Spresso, paragraph 7-6-4 of the "Safety of Flight" chapter. What the thump do they mean by the "etc."? That's bloody rude of them, don't you think?

I think you should send them your CV, that's what I think. You could be our "inside man."

What do you mean, "our"? Who's inside man, Spresso?

Come to think of it, never mind, Mr. Hoomin. You don't have what they want.

Oh, you little stinker, just remember who makes your salaaaaads.

Look, Mr. Hoomin, they want a doctorate from the top Soviet, Russian, whatever, aerospace polytechnic or something. Plus a good chunk of time in the MIGs and SUkhois. Intelligence background would be good too. OK, I don't mean that you're stupid or anything like that, Mr. Hoomin - the way you line my pee bin is impressive. They want a defector. I know, I know - you're very regular cause you eat like I do, but that's not the same thing.

That place deals with flight research that no bunny is supposed to know about. When you report something, they put out a story or two for public consumption, but mainly they are into snooping on whatever "the other side" is doing.

Oh, and you want an inside man there, eh, Spresso?

Mr. Hoomin, bun can never have enough "inside men." Please, Mr. Hoomin, take my advice and forget all about it. Your work here is much more vital than you think, Mr. Hoomin.

Right, I see.

We'll keep you posted,

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Greetings, Everybunny!

We're trying to decompress after the short week. It might have been short, but it felt dense and heavy. It's the weather.

That said, I hang out with my hoomin every morning. There are treats, extra head rubs, and binkies. We have this routine now, you see. He tries to read, I demand treats, run circles around him, and nip him on the bum if he's slow with the yammehs. It works wonder, I tell ya!

I have a feeling that today it's going to be one of those "naps for everybunny" days.

We'll keep you posted,
