The Bunday Evening Thumps

Charlie, making the best of a lazy bunday.

Good Evening, Everybun!

I demand an explanation! Every time the weekend comes around, it melts away so quickly. It's probably the hoomin. Whatever that klutz touches goes sideways, and the last two days simply evaporated.

Anyways, yesterday and today I visited with the Spresser. I took over his little plywood bundo and napped in there most of the day.

I napped because it was the right thing to do, but now I nap in protest. Stop messin' up the weekends, hoomin! I'll pause the protest when the saaaaaalad gets here.

We'll keep you posted,
- Charlie

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Gus, chewing on bunstructing ideas.

Greetings, Everybunny!

"They are not deconstructing their new bundo," said the hoomin.
"You mean - bunstructing? I think they are," said the other hoomin.
"Did any of them ever bunstructed anything - properly?" thought Gus about the hoomins.

Everybunny knows you can't just go bunstructing things willy-nilly. Bun has to make preparations. Decent, structural bungineer has to sign off on the plans.
Bun must know how to get the best sound out of the tearing cardboard at four in the morning. The bunstruction has to have that kind of sound that will scare the fiber out of the hoomins. Bun has to time the tears right. You can tell the bunstruction is going well when time after time, the hoomins get up to check on you at the wee hours of the morning. If you rip it repeatedly, at just the right time, they won't be able to go back to sleep. They won't be able to un-hear your cardboard drums of doom.

Then, the slimy, corrupt, local officials have to be greased to get the permits; bun has to get the right permits. Left permits are not allowed.

Do you see now how bunstruction is as much an art as it is a science? How can the hoomins not know it?
"They're hoomins, that's how they don't know," thought Gus

We'll keep you posted,
- Charlie

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Espresso, "Keep you hoodlums, busy, keep'em busy!"
Espresso, the clean up Inspector General.

Good Evening, Everybunny!

Lately, I invented a new game that I like to play with my hoodlum; I mean, "hoomin." Yes, hoomin. He puts hay in the bin; I tare it out of the bin, it is very convenient. He puts it back in the bin, I ... You get the point, right?

Why? I'm not telling. It keeps him busy, though. Keeps him guessing. Keeps him thinking and obsessing. I watch the steam come out his ears. It keeps the room warm; after all, it is winter, even down here.

In other news, the meet-and-greet at TBHRR went well. The place was busy; volunteers were very busy explaining, educating, and chatting all things lagomorph with the visitors.

Aside from that, we're all enjoying a nice, long, three day weekend with our hoomins. It's cloudy and groovy outside, and tomorrow it's supposed to get quite cold. It sounds like the perfect weather for some book-work. My hoomin said he's working on a proper explanation of how lift gets generated.

He told me, "Sperss, you wouldn't believe what short shrift the topic gets. I found only one source where that explains it properly and corrects all sorts of incomplete and downright misleading 'explanations.'"

Sigh ..., get the saaaaalad ready, will you? Why are you always late with the saaaaalad? Do you have a "proper" explanation for that, eh?

We'll keep you posted,
- Espresso

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Charlie, all better by evening.
Charlie, always looking for that 'Casablanca' shot.

Greetings, Everybunny!

Sometime between late Thursday night and Friday morning, I lost my appetite and almost got myself a ride to the V. E. T. Out came out the syringe with water, medicine, and a pump of recovery food. Well, Gussy Gus wanted all of it! The guy has no shame or something. Didn't anybunny teach him he's supposed to hate the syringe anytime it's close to his mouf?

I gave the hoomin a bit of hell, of course. Keep in mind all this was happening first thing in the morning, so tension was high. One hoomin had to go to the tar pits; the other stayed home with me a little longer. Then I made a deposit of gold and nomed some hay. If I didn't, I would have gone to the V. E. T.

By the evening, all was back to normal; I even held still here and there so my hoomin could get something with his clicky thing.

We'll keep you posted,
- Charlie

PS: Oh, that hoomin of mine! He's going again to the TBHRR meet-and-greet. It's happening today, not last week. He said he learned him a good lesson on reading and comprehending that date and time rubbish.

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Charlie

Gus

Good Evening, Everybun!

I'm cranky because my hoomin made me work the evening post again. He's cranky too because he didn't get any sleep last night. The sorry sod stayed way past midnight, fiddling with some art files for the lesson plans, and then the smoke alarm lost its plot and went off at three in the morning. Maybe the sensor went bad, or the batteries went bad. There was no fire or anything, but there was no good sleep after than either.

Anyway, he better be on time with my dinner saaaaalad. Unfortunately, I do expect my hoomin to work some more on those illustrations too. Those pesky lesson plans are still refusing to make themselves.

We'll keep you posted,
- Gus

Espresso Charlie and Gus Update

Greetings, Everybunny!

The first full week of the year at the tar pits felt awful long, awful long. Tuesday night, Espresso had one of his "not-in-the-mood-for-food" episodes, but it was short. Other than that, all is well. My hoomin hung out with us as much as he could, and his gut settled down finally.

He kept busy with the lesson plans and realized that, indeed, "things are not as good or as bad as they seem." And, of course, there's no emergency so bad that it couldn't be made worse. Maybe the best course of action is for now is to keep steady and let the fears subside.

My hoomin said he's going to hang out with some buns at the TBHRR meet-and-greet, smelly bugger ;-) The, back to the lesson plans.

We'll keep you posted,
- Gus

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Charlie, "Me in a Florida blizzard."

Good Evening, Everybun!

"Oh, Charlie!" said my hoomin, "You are like an angel to those guys. You are a true "Charlie Zoomer - the bunstronaut" from the stories.

He said I display what you could call a great "expeditionary behavior," whatever that is. Somehow, I negotiate the two clashing egos of Gus and Espresso, each bun a roughian when it comes to their territories. Even though Gus is on the kinder end of that spectrum, he will take no baloney from Espresso, and does not care that he's half the size of the "Spresser."

Anyway, it's good to be the source of inspiration to somebun. Maybe some part of me enjoys being a bunstronaut in a story or two.

We'll keep you posted,
- Charlie

PS: My hoomin said that Blogger is compressing images when he adds them to the post. It does not matter if they are .png or .jpg; they get hosed all the same and come out fuzzy. Sometimes it doesn't matter that much, but today it really got on his nerves. This pic of me came out quite well; it's quite lovely if you could see it sharp. (FaceBook seems to treat the images much better, sigh.)

We're thinking about using a 3rd party image hosting service for the pics that warrant that. If you have any ideas or know of any decent image hosting services, we would love to hear from you.

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Greetings, Everybunny!

I think we're done rascaling about for now. It's time for the first nap of the day. It's dark and rainy outside, so it's a perfect day for napping. And book work; our hoomin said it's a good time for book work, for getting back to the study routine.

We'll keep you posted,
- Charlie
