The Bunday Evening Thumps

Charlie, "The home-grown wheatgrass" is all gone but the pics aren't - thump!"

Good Evening, Everybun!

We are barely a week past Spring, and the bundays of summer are scorching. And we're in the "cool" part of the deep south fryer.

I made my hoomin use up the last of the dregs from the picture barrel because none of us feel like helping. We'll get one of the evenings this week and won't be able to nom the noms in peace 'cause the hoomin got inspired. Thump!

Other than that, it's been a nice, quiet loafing day. Sometimes bun can't tell why it's so quiet, though. Are we "Five miles out" from the storm? Are we in the eye of it? Or is it all behind us, but we can't tell?

Good Night, and Good Luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Greetings, Everybunny!

It started raining here at last. The weeds in the backyard got all confused, thinking it's Spring when it's already Summer. Even better - the days are finally getting shorter. I know, I know. If you think that was bad - it's only two days till M*nd*y. OK - it makes no difference to Mr. M*nd*y how precise the count - a day with change or three days. It'll get here on the dot because it always does.

In other news, my hoomin had a good week at the new tar pit. It still has that new tar pit smell, and the demo he did went very well. That said, another place called confirming their offer still stands. That's a fascinating pickled cawwot to chew on.

We're expecting more rain and stormy things - perfect for the soul searching my hoomin has to do. Yes - that's a head-scratcher because I know I'm his soul. What's he gonna search for? I'm right here! And what do I care as long as the cawwots and raspberrinis keep coming? And they better keep coming. But what about Charlie and Espresso? Does it mean my hoomin has three souls?

We'll keep you posted,
- Gus

Finn

You've heard of bunnberries, right? Sometimes crunchy, lots of fiber? Try 'em on a salad, like croutons.

- Thank you, Susan, and SCHRR!

PS: The rescue reports, "Finn had been left outside as a free range bunny (think they got him confused with a chicken). Bored with his surroundings and with no attention, he escaped into an urban neighbourhood(...).

Finn is very well litter box trained and is beginning to eat more hay. Finn likes to hide under things (like his foster Mom's futon), or behind some shelves...he likes to make her search for him. Finn enjoys supervised outside time in the yard within a good sized exercise enclosure where he can run circles, do binkies and then lay on his tummy stretched out for a little rest.
Finn would make any bunny lover a great companion, he just needs the final integration back into a home (small area at a time), and he would make a great netflix buddy."

He's still looking for his forever home.

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Charlie, "First - look over the Bunnapolis from the top of my bundo."

Charlie, "The visit Espresso, eat his greens and flop in the nearest loafer."

Good Evening, Everybun!

The fringes of the tropical storm Claudette brought plenty of rain and grey skies this week. It's still cloudy and pretty cool for this time of year. It's nice to have the sun out of sight for a while.

So, first thing in the morning, I came over to see 'Spresso. I finished all his greens, demanded all the cookies I could out of my hoomin, and found the nearest loafer. I flopped hard on the side and fell asleep as if I came from a double shift disdanium mine or something.

My hoomin worked on those darn lesson plan notes - his left paw made notes, and the right one massaged 'Spresso's back. We had our hoomin cornered. And that was the best part of the day.

Now we'll try to get through the first whole week of our hoomin at the new tar pits. The new remote work feels so weird. My hoomin sits in front of the same window, looks out at the same ducks in the yard, and his confuser runs the same software he used in the old pits. It's all very confusing.

Good Night, and Good Luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Greetings, Everybun!

It's been a short, two-day workweek for my hoomin, but at least it was a workweek. We're still not sure when his first day was. Was it Wednesday when he had a short orientation call and didn't do anything else? Or was it Thursday when he got to do some "workey" stuff?

It doesn't matter, I guess. He hit the ground running, only didn't know if he was running in the right direction - a minor detail if you ask me. As long as he made a good time and enjoyed himself, that's all I cared about. At the end of the day, he works for me no matter where he punches the clock.

We'll know more about that "direction" thingy on Wednesday. That's when he'll do the first "show-and-tell" for the hoomins he works with. In other words, things are still as clear as mud, and we need more time for the silt to settle.

We'll keep you posted,
- Gus

The Bunday Evening Thumps

"Gussy" Gus inspecting the brand new, home-grown, first-of-the-day after cookies wheatgrass snack.

Good Evening, Everybun!

We started the day right, testing the home-grown wheatgrass from our hoomins. It was yammeh, I have to admit, but don't you worry - we're keeping plenty of dry disapprovium powder handy - just in case.

Our hoomin gets plenty of snorgle opportunities, and we keep our eyes on him. Next week this time, we'll know more about how his new tar pits are working out. Maybe it'll be all that newfangled, bio-friendly tar that smells like lavender. The first day will be on Thursday, so at least - hopefully - it'll be a short week.

Of course, we'll keep you posted.

Good Night, and Good Luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Greetings, Everybun!

By the time you read this, we're probably done goofing about for the day, and we're settled into the loafing routine until the evening.

My hoomin is trying to breathe and keep his wits about. Funny, those wits, how they have to be kept about no matter what happens. He got a job offer late yesterday and now feels the shearing currents of enormous relief and trepidation because the perennial "What does it mean?" never goes away.

For now, he's trying to clear his head.

The first day at the new adventure will be next Thursday. And no bunny knows what it will entail. He'll probably go to a co-work place downtown and meet the CEO, maybe start on storyboards, do a little brainstorming - no bun knows what - it's all a guess.

But, first, he'll reorder more treats, then settle down to something artsy, do chores in the sun, and such. The "lessons learned" from the old pits still have to be processed, and the outdoorsy things are great for that.

We'll keep you posted,
- Charlie

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Charlie, "Marco?"
Charlie, "Hay!"  Espresso, "It's what's for dinner."
Gus, "Polo!"

Good Evening, Everybun!

In the movie "Bridge of Spies," the character played by Tom Hanks asks the captured spy, "Do you never worry?"
"Would it help?" answers the spy.

It's a good thing to remember these days. It's not a suggestion to ignore the "next thing that can kill you" but to keep your withs about. Nothing good ever comes out of getting blinded by fear. A sad, terrifying story can give bun a nasty episode of vasovagal syncope — horrible stuff. Just ask my hoomin, he'll tell ya.

And so it's possible to enjoy even the summer days in La Florida. Afternoons are starting to bring showers and the early evenings serve fantastic skyscapes. Inland, the state boils with hail and storms; thunder and lightning scatter airliners like palmetto bugs in the night. Their fringes reach the west coast just in time to be painted by the setting sun.  We get a front seat to the best show of orange, purple, and blue. And we're glad we don't have to run for covers like palmetto bugs or airliners.

Good Night, and Good Luck!
- Gus

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Charlie, "On top of the Bunnapolis."
Gus, "The Shadow nomes."
Greetings, Everybun!

I can't tell you why there are so many blues in the pixes as of late. Maybe it's the summer blues, even though summer doesn't start for another couple of weeks. One of my hoomins put up a jungle installation right next to the window. The plants need sunlight, but the seagrape and mango trees outside the window permanently shade the living room. So the grow lights provide the funky purplish ambiance for a few hours a day. But what the camera seems to pick up is blue, and lots of it.

The important thing is that we're doing well, so at least my hoomin doesn't have to worry about that. Other than that, it's the old "one paw in front of the other" routine for him. His days are a bit weird, long and somehow getting longer than ever.

We'll keep you posted,
- Charlie
