The Bunday Evening Thumps

Gus, "Not in the mood, hoomin."

"Still ... not in the mood ya ..."
Espresso, "I ain't talking, hoomin!"

Good Evening, Everybun!

Thumping commenced shortly after four Sunday morning. "Let me reenact the fights of my people!" proclaimed Gus as he started a paw fight with Espresso. They proceeded to spar and rattle the barrier as loudly as they could until the hoomins woke up. Espresso declared, "Mission Accomplished!" and with a foot-flick disappeared into the art room. Gus, to work off the excess nervous energy, carried on the fight with a rug on Espresso's side of the barrier until the hoomins got up once again. When they kicked the sad rug away, Gus declared himself to be the winner and took a quick victory hop until he tired out completely.

Both bunooligans declined to make any statements regarding the incident, and Espresso refused to pose for any pics.

We'll keep you posted,

- Charlie

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Charlie and Gus, "The Morning Loafers"
Espresso, "The Cumulo-Thumpus"

Greetings, Everybunny!

Loafing and bunstructing, bunstructing and loafing. What else can you do on a nice, hot, October summer day? I'm in the process of demolishing my bundo and the brand new doggie pad. There's so much stuffing to be ripped out! Come to think of it -  maybe it's not the heat but the humidity that makes a bun go all rippidy-thumpy?

We'll keep you posted,
- Espresso

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Good Evening, Everybun!

We survived another October surprise. In case you missed it, a little storm streaked through the Gulf of Mexico and triggered the Florida Panhandle. That's roughly the same area that got obliterated a year ago by hurricane Michael. All we got here was rain, wind, and awful memories. Now, when you go outside, it feels like a sauna. It's October for thump's sake!

The good news is that our hoomin had a three-day weekend, so we did enjoy extra everything. Our hoomin says it helps to keep his wings level.

We'll keep you posted,
- Gus

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Espresso The Great

Hellos, Everybunny!

Nope, no sir, I was not in the mood for food on Tuesday night. Of course, my hoomin noticed it immediately and started with a lecture. "You know, Wednesday is a short day at the V. E. T. And your favorite tech probably won't be there. Blah, bla bla bla, Blah!"

How the thump would he know? Well, the medicine came out next. Then, the big, fat syringe loaded with Sarx.

I gave him hell, I tell ya! We fought over every bite and every swallow of the stuff. By midnight, I had him worn out real good. Real good! Ya shoulda' seen that mug; looked like death on a stick.

Sigh, by two or three in the morning, my appetite came back. I stormed into the bedroom, tossed his slippers, flapped my ears, and settled down by the bed. I got some head rubs and felt my ears. He ran out to "my" room and saw the saaaaaalad bowl empty and turned over. My fresh deposit in the bin was pure gold. It boggles my mind how the hoomins go nuts like that over a pile of raisins.

We'll keep you posted,
- Espresso

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Good Evening, Everybunny!

First off, every bun is noming and pooping well, and we are still thrilled that Charlie didn't have to visit the V. E. T.

In other news, we're heartbroken reading about the passing of Alexei Leonov. The cosmonaut who carried out the first space walk. Ed White would do the second one not long after that. What few people realize, though, is that on the same flight, Alexei managed to work on some art. Was it before the EVA or after? Because he almost died on that spacewalk.

Leonov was an artist, and his "something to fall back on" involved test-piloting and cosmonauting. We're still waiting for that one to sink in.

Here's what we gather to be the first piece of visual art created on orbit:

Photograph: Museum of the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre
During the Apollo-Soyuz flight in 1975, Leonov sketched Tom Stafford, who commanded the Apollo side of the flight.

Now, somewhere over the Rainbow Bridge, Alan Bean and Leonov are doing art together.

We'll keep you posted,
- Gus

PS: Since we're talking about arting in space, here an article by Nicole Stott, an American astronaut, talking about what's it like to paint in space!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Hellos, Everybunny!

I had a bit of a scare last night. The usual dinner saaaaalad time came around, and I had no appetite for it. You know what happened next, right? Medicine. Then a big, fat syringe with Sarx rescue food. Belleh rubs. My hoomin thought this was a case of a serious "Main Bun B Undervolt." And who is he calling "Bun B"? Is there a "Bun A" that I don't know about?

Well, my loss of appetite was no instrumentation error. At least my hoomin spotted it early. Shortly before midnight, I got fed the recovery food again.

The good news is I turned up for treats this morning! Yep; had the usual multi-vitamin biscuit, then the digestive one. A little later, I slurped up another dose of my medicine. Now my hoomin says it's like a day off! And since no bun got any sleep last night, we're looking forward to a lazy bunday.

We'll keep you posted,
- Charlie
