Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Hellos, Everybunny!

We are following the "one paw in front of the other" protocol. On Tuesday, we found out that we've lost some ground to calcium. Where we had progress before, we now slid back a little. 

This morning, we had a phone call with Dr. Zellner. She reached out to other experts in search of options and came back with a mixed bag. Our BluePearl does not perform lithotripsy, and even if it did, Dr. Gronsky would not recommend it due to Charlie's age. 

Another procedure discussed would involve a tube from the kidney to the bladder to provide better evacuation of urine. It would also involve frequent visits to BluePear to flush it out and keep the stuff flowing, because you know, calcium likes to be obdurate. And because of Charlie's age - you guessed it - she's not a good candidate for it.

So, the option to keep on keeping on is the daily sub-q fluids. And my hoomin felt so proud yesterday because he gave Charlie fluids all by himself. Just one sub, good flow, no wrestling. And Charlie didn't even get too mad. She wanted a cookie shortly after.

And we had a good evening after that. And a good morning today. We've been trying to take more reference pictures for the painting. The meat bag figures that if we keep trying, we just may get lucky and get that one shot that will have everything just right. 

Ha! Good luck with that. Time to nap through the mid-day doldrums.
