Gussy, "You know what they say - murderize and find out!" |
Charlie, "That's an awful tough way to practice touch-and-gos, Spressy." |
Good evening, Everybun!
What Charlie said. My hoomin and my all-time favorite murderizer, 'Spresso, have been struggling to keep the murderizer eating since yesterday. Espresso got his first dose of the medicine around noon and his appetite shut down. Just like that, as if an O2 tank blew out on him. It all very much feels like a touch-and-go practice.
Since then, Espresso has been getting appetite restorer mix solution and the Sarx recovery food - syringe fed, of course. He ate a bit of greens when my hoomin hand-fed him, even at one in the morning.
We're trying to hang on for the next twenty or so hours until we call the V. E. T. for a consult. Does 'Spressy have to return to the V.E.T.? Do we need to stop or switch the medicine? He had a similar reaction last time he had to take an antibiotic, so this is not entirely surprising.
As it stands, 'Spress will have to take three more doses of that stuff (3cc of the antibiotic once a day) so could be in for a loooong few days till Wednesday. Maybe the Apollo 13 story is something we can use. It'll be rough, but we'll make it. We'll catch on sleep next week.
Later on Espresso will get a nebulizer treatment - auntie Susan let us use her machine.
Good night and good luck!
- Gus

Sorry to hear this. Hope he does better.
‘Stressors (new name for ‘Spresso) you get better and better soon. I know it is no fun. I actually react to antibodies the same way. Think happy thoughts and rest. Oh, yeah, you don’t need to share what constitutes a happy thought. Love you, Jane
A little bit of probiotics might help if he takes it about an hour or so after having the antibiotic. Hope dear Espresso is better soon! :)=
