I came to the sad conclusion that, at best, La Florida will mess you up, or it will try to kill you. And to keep it show, let me vent that we really miss Hunter S. Thompson in times like these. If you're unfamiliar with his work, try "Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72." No, the Las Vegas stuff doesn't count for what we're talking about.

Why the sour mood? That red blob. I'll wager that it will have a number and a track by tomorrow morning. Maybe it will dissolve. Perhaps it will turn north and cause no harm. But right now, we assume it means trouble, and it's fixin' to drown somebunny somewhere. Hopefully, I'm wrong about this one.

Anyway, I'm sending my hoomins off to the movies. I need some peace and quiet - I got my bumm trimmed this morning, and I'm not ready to let that one go. Hence, my cup of disapproval runneth over. Hence, the mood.

Of course, the evening will still be young when they come back, and there should be plenty of time left for my hoomin to embarrass himself with the acrylics and whatnot.

Greetings, Everybun!

The hurricane passed west of us by a decent margin and still flooded many areas. We got so fortunate that even power stayed on without any interruptions. The rains were most welcome, and our Spanish Needle crop is doing very well.

And we stayed very dry and cozy - no water got in where it used to flood our rooms. So, all that work on the wall this Spring paid off.

After the storm had passed, my hoomin insisted on doing something "normal," so we helped out the best we could. We arted a little. 

Now the plan is to chillax over the long weekend. The days are shorter, and we can stand pretending the Fall is near. Oh well, we can dream - right?
