Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Bun morning, Everybunny!

Good news, everybunny - we've nothing special to report. Just another ho-hum, boring, unexciting week went by. We're doing our normal bunny stuff, Charlie has a good appetite, and bun just can't ask for more. 

The hoomin over-adulted this week, but that's his problem. Adulting is HIS job, and I don't want to hear any whining.

That said, he had a funny exchange about that with his friend in New Mexico.
Hoomin: "Over adulted this week. Adulting is highly overrated, do not recommend."
A long, long pause ensued.
Friend: "Like p*rn?"
Hoomin: "WHAAAAHAHHHHAHAHHAAAA - noooo, like taxes, and bills, and car in the shop, and getting old, LOL!"

And for something completely different - did I tell you Summer is here? Yep, it sure feels like it. So enjoy your Spring if you have one.

The Bunday Evening Thumps

Charlie, "Sometimes I turn out much better in black and white. And you know this one will be painted - 'Olympia is a Lionhead II'. We'll just have to work Gus into it."

Charlie, "Oh, come on now, giving the hoomin a little heart attack never hurt nobunny!"

Good evening, Everybun!

We had a bunderful morning routine today. Breakfast was most agreeable, and we let the meatbag hang out with us. The head rubs were great, and even Gus enjoyed a shoulder massage. The sub-q fluids were quick, and the sprig of Spanish Needle afterward hit the spot just right.

We're glad we're having a day. I keep doing my things, in the hay bin, around the hay bin, next o the hay bin, and we keep in the moment. Then we nap in the this bundo, in that bundo, then, behind here, and under this.

I hopped into the art room to switch bundos, and saw that my hoomin gessoed up a brand news, small canvas. He shay it's just to keep the edge off. For the next few months there's going o be a lot studying going on, and luckily, some of that will be audio and video. He hopes to art and study at least some of the time. Well, sound like a cook experiment anyway.

I keep hearing how difficult it is to come down after the the BunFest frenzy. The painting, the event, handing out with bunn people all day long. Maybe come October we'll start working on a bigger piece for next year. I hope you appreciate my optimism of thinking about the next year.

 Of course, first we'll have to get through tomorrow's v.e.t. appointment t express my bladder. So here's to maintaining my weight and having nothing to report.

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Our tiny, repurposed squeeze bottle with hydrogen peroxide.

Areas circled in orange show the traces of foam created when the peroxide hit the spot. On top, the big, light area is sludge itself - parts of that also foamed. Most of the foam dissipated rather quickly, before the meatsack lined up the shot.

It turns out I may be holding my weight steady. The tech checked my weight after the bladder expression on M*nd*y and it did not show any change. So there!

Once we got home, I got a dose of Metacam, and I was back to my normal self pretty quickly. 

Here's an interesting tidbit if you're ever worried about blood in your urine. Hydrogen Peroxide does a really good job detecting blood in even old pee stains. The meatball filled a small plastic bottle with peroxide and started dropping drops of that on all sorts of stains around my bins. He was like the little Serge A. Storms running around with a home chemistry set.

And - bingo! Just like the doctor said it would, it bubbled like crazy in a few spots. He did some deeper cleaning around the bundos and found some pretty old spots that bubbled. 

Of course, my doctor got a pic and a long text message about it. Then, amazingly enough, we heard back in a short order, and yes, considering my condition, that's not surprising.

The biped just got home from Bunfest and reported that the event was a bunderful success. Attendance keeps growing year over year, and today had to be record-setting for this area. My hoomin helped out in The Bunny Chill and the Adoption Room, and they were busy all day long.

Both paintings found their forever homes. I heard it was a very strange feeling watching the piece with Charlie, and I get taken by a stranger and disappear from sight. He had to remind himself, "It's just a painting, Charlie and Gus are napping at home."

And nap we did. It was nice to not be checked on every five minutes. The evening treats were late, but we'll settle that later. Other than that, we're doing well.

Does your Universe feel as discombobulated as ours? I'm at a complete loss as to what to report. 

Charlie might be losing weight for real.

It's Spring, but for some reason, the meatsack thinks it's still February.

It's March, but the afternoons can feel like summer.

The nuts and bolts in that noggin of his are losing threads.

The hoomin got hardly any sleeps this week. 

He thinks my appetite is better than Charlie's.

We had one last, tiny blizzard on Tuesday.

Naps, we need naps.

Tomorrow is Bunfest.

The hoom is really dreading Charlie's M*nd*y vet-tech appointment - especially the weigh-in. 

The two paintings are done - he didn't "finish" them as much as "give up" on them.

He - he needs those naps!

Good evening, Everybun!

We are doing - we're doing OK. Trying to sum up how we're doing in one line feels like playing the Chair of the Federal Reserve. In other words, Charlie got her fluids this morning; one stab; the flow was great; and she was a tiny bit mad. She peed on the disposal pad while getting the fluids and expressed some of the sludge. It feels very rough to touch. Oh, you know he touched it! She enjoyed some extra snacks, took a nap in a hard-to-reach location, and now is loafing and napping tucks-out in a loafer.

I'm disapproving of my hoomin sideways and smugly. He came down with sniffles this past Thumpday, and today I'm enjoying the part where he tries to cough up his lungs. He says he overdid it yesterday. I'm thinking, "Overdid what!? Breathing? Being annoying? Just being, maybe?"

The way I see it, he'll have to overdo it tonight again. The painting is almost done - for better or for worse, but "almost" won't cut it. And Bunfest is next week.

And we're still doing well. My hoomin let himself panic early this week, and convinced himself there was blood in Charlie's urine. He had a proper wiggout, swapped Charlie for yours truly to see Dr. Zellner at Avian. We just got back from the doctor, and no, that was not blood in her urine. And there were no indications of an infection either.

Dr. Zellner showed us how to test stains for blood with hydrogen peroxide, and oh my Bun, that stuff just cooks! Next time, we'll stick with that and skip the rubbish showing false positives.

Unfortunately, Charlie will have to get four more days of Orbox because the meat sack lost his sh*t last night and gave her a dose. We don't want to build up resistance to the medication.

Now he feels like he won the lotto or something, and I need to get busy napping. And those pesky apple sticks still refuse to chew themselves into shivs.

It's been a very nice and quiet nap time. The hoomins cleared out for some "outside time," and we had no nonsense to put up with all day. And it's still quiet! Chillaxing, putting that one paw in front of the other. Charlie has a good appetite and keeps on doing bunny stuff. Which means giving our hoomin as hard a time as she can - in the morning. She has figured out that the fluids happen in the morning now. 

But they go quickly. Thank you, Sallyneary, for the tip about warming up the concoction first. We do think it helps, and we need all the help we can get. Of course, there are treats afterward. 

Last night we started the new painting of Charlie and yourz truly. Right before my "nigh nigh," I had to chin off, and nom off on the work. And it was double pay for me, of course, because of the hours, you know. The Brotherhood of Studio Forebuns has my back.
